here is an article from fifa:

Kaka, whose full name is Ricardo Izecson Dos Santos Leite, was officially presented as a Real Madrid player tonight in front of tens of thousands of fans and a huge media contingent at the club's Santiago Bernabeu stadium. An estimated 50,000-strong crowd, almost three times the anticipated number, turned up to watch the ceremony as Kaka was unveiled as Madrid's latest addition by club president Florentino Perez and honorary president Alfredo di Stefano.

Kaka, 27, has penned a six-year contract and has cost Madrid a reported 65 million euros. He arrived in Madrid earlier today with his father from South Africa, where he won the FIFA Confederations Cup with Brazil. He later passed a medical exam at the club. He "is in perfect condition to play football at the highest level," Real said in a statement.

"I want to write my name into the history of this club," the Brazilian midfielder told the crowd in the Spanish capital, as he showed off his new number eight shirt.

The former AC Milan playmaker will wear the number eight at Madrid next season. There had been speculation that Kaka would be handed the number five shirt that Zinedine Zidane had once worn for Madrid, but the new arrival will instead take up the number eight shirt formerly worn by Fernando Gago.
I want to write my name into the history of this club.
                  Kaka of Real Madrid

Real president Florentino Perez praised Kaka as "one of the best players in the world" for his "impeccable behaviour" and as "one of the icons of our time."

"We want that this club will one day be elected the best in history," he said.

Perez returned as president of Real last month. He first led Real from 2000 to 2006, when it earned the nickname "Los Galacticos", winning the league title twice and UEFA Champions League with such stars as Zidane, Ronaldo, Luis Figo, David Beckham and Michael Owen.

Tonight's presentation took place on a stage erected on the Bernabeu pitch and included Madrid's record nine European Cup trophies, a giant screen and a backdrop of four huge images showing club legends Raul, Juanito, Di Stefano and Zidane.

Another of the so-called new Galacticos at the club, Cristiano Ronaldo, was signed from Manchester United for a world record 93 million euros, and will be presented to the supporters on 6 July.

kaka has come a long way, I remember his interview a couple years ago before he became famous at Milan where he talked about his struggles in the Brazil youth system. It's a dream come true as a Madrid fan to see him here at the club, but it's not surprising since Madrid's history does attract the best.

In that second video at 2:40 and beyond is the kind of scene every footballer dreams of.
