and btw: Have you guys forgotten Ronaldinho 2003-2006 ??
won best player of the year twice

what do base that on exactly? theres no bias.. bias is tyhinking steven gbh gerrad is better than the likes of kaka.

zanetti and maldini have both played centre backs... but their wiki definitions say otherwise.

and ronaldo aint a consistent player... hes a loose cannon.. not what id have on my team and plus he was much better in the late 90s.

VILLA over the great R9 ??
      Years Club Apps† (Gls)†
      1993–1994 Cruzeiro 14 (12)
      1994–1996 PSV 45 (42)
      1996–1997 Barcelona 37 (34)
      1997–2002 Internazionale 69 (56)
      2002–2007 Real Madrid 127 (83)

      2009– Corinthians 7 (6)
      National team‡
      1994– Brazil 97 (62[1])

      here is R9 scorign record...astonishing

and you have a LB (Maldini) and a RB (Zanetti) playings as CBs
and put aside your ManU bias and admit Nedved > Giggs
and I am shocked how eveyrone is ignoring LUIS FIGO

last decade he would be unanimous for team of the decade, he might have been player of the decade, but he hasnt been that astounding this decade. Well he was for a couple of years (the first couple) but in that sense shevchenko has just as good of an arguement for the award.

and to the people saying take off ronaldinho...i was never a huge fan of the guy, but he has won 2 world player of the year awards this decade, you cant just write him off

I knoww man, I can't believe some people include Terry and Villa on their team. Terry and Villa weren't even known before 2003-04. meanwhile we have had amazing players in this decade. The hardest pick for me was between Ronaldinho and Nedved...and Also one from Gerrard/Pirlo/Makelele/Ballack

I can't believe people say Buffon and Casillas are better than Kahn. Has anyone here watched Kahn during 2000-2006 ??
absolute monster in the net. won the Cl for Bayern single handed ly and guided a shitty Germany team to the WC finals all by himself winning player of the TOURNAMENT

Well its natural for a 15 year old not to be able to remember what happened in year 2000.

Ronaldinho: His form during 2003-2006 was absolutely unbeliavable. I say Ronnie at his prime > the current Messi. Barca was a loser club before he arrived and Ronaldinho changed the club drastically. He is an absolute legend. too bad he reached his peak way too early
im not gonna put Ronaldinho on a list representative of the best players from 2000-2009 when he only had 3 elite years...

I would rather have Ronaldinho from 2003-2006 than any other player in the world...from 2006-2009 there are at least 50 players I would rather have than Ronaldinho and thats why he's left off the list

let's discuss it on PFDC, what is your world team of the decade from 1999-2009
                              mine goes like this:

                              --------------------Oliver Kahn----------------------------------
                              --Cafu-------Fabio Cannavaro----Lucio------Roberto Carlos------
                              ----------------------------------------------------------------
                              -Luis Figo-----Zinedin Zidane---Steven Gerrard-------Ronaldinho--
                              ------------------Thiery Henry----------------------------------
                              -----------------------------Straight Ronaldo-------------------

                              coach: Guus Hiddink

honorable mentions to: Paolo Maldini , Johp Stam, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Patrick Vieira, Pavel Nedved, Michael Ballack, Andrea Pirlo

Kahn: one of the greatest goalie ever, Buffon and Casillas have a long way to match his level. anyone rememebrs WC2002 when Germany had a shit team and Kahn single handedly helped them to make the finals ? He was always fantastic with amazing saves. Klinsman was a joke to take Lehman over him for WC06

Cafu: awesome RB, Maicon and Alves are amazing, but none of them are in Cafu level just yet. Cafu was unbelievable in world cup 2002 and he was an awesome player in Roma and Milan. no contest

Cannavaro: the reason Italy won the WC. an absolute rock in Juve's defense. won fifa pleyr of the year being a defender. Italy missed him so much in euro 08.

Lucio: this one is debatable. I wish I could put Maldini there, but it is not his natural position. Nesta can make that place too, but Lucio has been awesome since 2002. He is an absolute rock in the back and scores goals too. Van Gaall is the biggest douche in the world to sell him to Inter for 5 mill.

Roberto Carlos: This was one of the hardest choices. I love Maldini, but I would say Carlos takes over here. Carlos offers more attacking wise and his freekicks are absolute stunners. He sometimes makes stupid mistakes, but I still pick Carlos over Maldini by the narrowesst margin .

Luis Figo: absolute legend form 2000-2006. awesome footballer, amazing crosses and freekicks, plus a lot of "gheyrat". Portugal national team weakened significantly when he left. Figo

Zinedin Zidane: best player of all time. self explanatory

Steven Gerrard: I was thinking about Pirlo and Vieira too. but I think Steven tops it here, you may think it is because I have a Liverpool bias but let's see Steven Gerrard is the only player ever to score in every single final games. the man who inspired his team to come back from a 3-0 defeat at half time UCL final when he was only 25. He has a lot of heart and has been playing world class football since 2001. A lot of people even Liverpool haters, admit Stevie G is probably the most complete football atm.

Ronaldinho: His form during 2003-2006 was absolutely unbeliavable. I say Ronnie at his prime > the current Messi. Barca was a loser club before he arrived and Ronaldinho changed the club drastically. He is an absolute legend. too bad he reached his peak way too early

Thierry Henry: hats off please. 2001-2007 HE WAS F**** AWESOME IN ARSENAL. The type of goals he would score were so unique. I have no friggin idea how he never won fifa player of the year

Straight Ronaldo: look at WC2002, look at his goal scoring record for everysingle club he has played for. absolute legend. player of the century maybe, he has to battle it with Zidane. once you have Ronaldo on your team and he gets the ball around the box or in it..ITS A GOAL

Guus Hiddink: 4th in the world with SOUTHKOREA- I know they cheated, but they till played amazing football
UCL semi-finals with PSV: they nearly made the final
WC2006 (Aussie): deserved to beat the world champs Italy, totally dominated them
Russia: eliminated England, beat the mighty Netherlands, made semi finals of Euro
Chelsea: Chelsea was gonna drop outta top 4 with fagscolari, until this man arrived, his record speaks for itself. totally ourRafa'd Benitez and almost made CL finals

i agree with must of the list. But i would put Cech over Kahn, Cannavaro out Terry in. I say Xavi or Inestia over Gerrard
A free and reborn Iran without organized religion and rooted in its true herritage and values

The nominations list are out and Terry, Iniesta and Cech aren't even mentions and rightly so. We are not talking about team of the world atm. it is over the decade. Cech has been shit for Czech national team and single handedly eliminated them from euros when Kahn almost won the WC for Germany.

Cannavaro has won the Ballon 'Dr and before joining Real, has been the best CB of the decade undoutedly. He was the reason Italy won the WC along with Pirlo.
Iniesta has ahd only 2 good seasons so he can't be included. but we can have an argument over Xavi and Gerrard. and for me Gerrard wins it
