you didnt see figo in his prime.. thats why your eyebrows are raised then lol. but imo even though messi has only been amazing for like 2 seasons, it was enough for him to gain a place over figo.

when it comes to choosing, a 12year old is just as likely to be able to judge as a 40year old as long as they have some knowledge. For example, if there was a greatest ever 11, at age of 17 i an still put down pele maradona bekenbaur etc. The point is, its going to be the stereotypical players, staight ronaldo, zidane, figo nedved, maldini, bufffon/kahn/maybe scmichel??? del piero, henry. These are not my guesses but if you chose 5 strikers, 10defenders and 10mids and 3keepers, you will almost definitely of mentioned the team. People can put down villa and torres etc from their own opinion, but they know that they are 100% not going to come up because they are not the stereotypical choices (to say the least)

I think the list is a perfect balance except for two of the choices. I understand why they chose who they did but persoanlly i think mine are better choices.

Vieira was a master DM who made the position his own. He was a true general who had one of the best passes in the world. He could score goals yet you knew that he sees his prime responsibility as protecting his midfield and defence....and he did that extremely well.

how Makelele was selected over him is amazing to me.

secondly i would like to say that there HAS to be a spot in there for Kaka. He has won it all at personal, team and international level. How has he been overlooked?

As good as Figo was....he was no way better then Kaka.
