yessss!!!!!!!
thats definitely great news.
germany is the strongest league in the world and gummersbach is one of its strongest teams.
I think they also hold the world record on the highest attendance ever in a handball team.
allahkaram is a very weird name, but he is a handsome guy. he will represent us well.
his handball playing must be good as well.
otherwise this move wouldnt have happened
and also there is this vid on youtube with the iranian handball team. they were not that strong, but they had some strong player. and the strong players were the youngest at the same time.

some extra information from the teams site:
-he plays for foulad sepahan
-he is a sports student
-he is 1,95m tall, he weighs 95 kg
-he can play in the offense, defense, on the left and in the center. he is famous for his throughs from farer distance
-this trial was made possible by gummersbachs physiotherapist "mori azghandi", who follows iranian handball. he had introduced esteki to the staff.
he says that the iranian league is about as strong as the 3rd german league, but he thinks that esteki can make it if he is able to access the potential he has.
-its preseason and during his trial the team will mostly train condition. but that doesnt scare him at all. he just arrived from the national team wc preperation and is in very good shape.

the junior handball world championship took place in eqypt.
iran ranked 17th out of 24 teams. germany won the whole thing.
in the preliminary round iran was grouped with brazil (1st), france (2nd), spain (3rd), norway (4th), and tunisia (6th).
iran reached the 5th place (understandably) and failed to make it to the main round (only the top 3 teams did).
(iran won 2 games. they defeated tunisia and spain!)
iran then had 2 other placement matches, which they both won against qatar and greenland.
so in the end iran became 17th, the strongest 5th ranked team of the tournament, proving that an other group than the group of death they were in would have took them further.

allahkaram esteki (22) played in that tournament as well. he was the 3rd best scorer in his team (45th in the overall tournament scorer ranking)
allahkarams young brother sajad esteki (20) played in that tournament too.
and judged by the statistics he was even better than his brother.
he was the top scorer of the iranian team and ranked 6th in the overall tournament scorer ranking!!!
