10 years ago our basketball and volleyball teams were an non existant force and now they are improving at an astonishing rate, but why and how!? under this corrupt government how can they make so much progress?

With due respect, I don't think its down to corruption.

the PEO is starting to realise that they need to bring players up together, if you look at our bball team, they are all born from 1983 to 1986 (with a few exceptions) and have been playing alongside one another for years. Same can be said with volleyball.

The problem with football is that for years we had that great pool of players like Mobali, Kazemian, Kaebi, Madanchi etc but they found it hard to integrate with many of the older players like Mahdavikia, Daei, Karimi etc. Then on top of that out of nowhere we bring in players like Zandi and everything gets complicated, no matter how individually skilled the players are the team loses its cohesion.

Basketball and volleyball are not big enough for the I.R. to care about getting their dirty hands on corrupting them.
Football is used as a politcal and ideological tool, so of course the I.R. would be exploiting it

gotta give it to the physique and natural talent of our players too
also the fact that iran has alot of good indoor facilities, not much maintenance needed for grass or anything like that
