turkey are going to need a miracle now, we have to beat belgium in belgium and we have to beat armenia in turkey. and we need a lot of help from estonia and spain. bosnia go to estonia then host spain. inshallah, they draw or lose against estonia and lose to spain. if they beat estonia, turkey is eliminated from the World cup.

      Africa

Cameroon went from bottom of their group to top in just 5 days! They beat Gabon 2-0 on Saturday, then again 2-1 today. Crazy stuff.

Meanwhile Ghana has officially qualified and Ivory Coast pretty much has as well (it would take a mathematical miracle for the Elephants not to qualify).

Also, Tunisia scored a goal at the death to tie Nigeria 2-2 in Lagos and stay top of their group, so Nigeria may miss the World Cup again.

      Asia/Oceania

Unbelievable finish in Riyadh as 2 injury time goals from either side resulted in a 2-2 draw between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, which means Bahrain advance to the playoff against New Zealand on the away goals rule.

          pharaoh how is egypt doing?

norway need a miracle to qualify now, all the games in their group are finished now, they finished second, but the group with the 2nd place with the least points won't make it, so ireland (or sweden/portugal) needs to lose their remaining game(s) or something for norway to qualify on goal difference. I don't fully understand the system, but every team in every group except norways will have the points they earned against the team that finished last in their group deducted or something.

^^wow, that would be a travesty for the wc in general..!!
but still their chances of qualifying should be well above 60% as they just have to beat a representative from CONCAF for a final birth into wc..!!
i can't believe they havent fired maradona already..!!
what is it with all these good footballers thinking they would make a good coach as well..!!?

Egypt is in big trouble, though still mathematically alive. They've won their last two matches, including a scrappy away win in Rwanda last time out to at least survive until October. The team has been decimated with injuries and suspensions (no Zidan, Abou Treika, Zaki, or Mido last game). They are 3 points behind Algeria with 2 games to go. Algeria also has a superior goal difference though.

Though I know this team fights hard to the very end, I have no control over things personally so I'm trying not to hold out too much hope this time. The 2002 and 2006 World Cup qualifiers already did a number on my longevity.

portugal will most likely take 6 points out of the rest of their games, so sweden must make sure they get top points as well to go for 1st or even get 2nd. a win or draw at denmark is predictable, while they should be able to beat albania at home.

Egypt Skipper Ahmed Hassan: We Will Thrash Algeria 5-0

The trash talking has already begun ahead of November's World Cup clash between the regional rivals...

Egypt skipper Ahmed Hassan has disclosed that the African champions aim to trounce bitter regional rivals Algeria when the two clash in a World Cup qualifying match in Cairo in November.

Algeria lead Group 3 of the World Cup qualifiers with ten points from four matches and host Rwanda next month, while Egypt are three points behind and face a difficult away trip to Zambia.

After Algeria pipped Zambia 1-0 earlier this month in Blida, Karim Saifi predicted that Algeria's match in Egypt in November will be for tourism, not for competition, as the Desert Foxes will have qualified for the World Cup before the game.

However, Ahmed Hassan told Algerian newspaper Al Nahar, "Yes, they will come for tourism besides the match as we are generous people, but before that we will beat them 5-0 as we did before."

Hassan admitted that they did not initially consider Algeria as a big threat to their World Cup aspirations, rather their focus was on Zambia.

"We didn't consider Algeria as our main rivals. We paid more attention to Zambia... then after we drew with Zambia and then we were beaten by Algeria, everything changed...but we will focus and fight till the end."
