Argentina at risk to not qualify

Argentina, like Iran, currently has as their head coach, a former star player, former international sensation, Maradona and they're falling in the same trap that Iran did was Daei as coach, losing to teams that they should easily defeat, praying in a Roman Catholic church instead of rallying the team (which is composed of players of different religions). One key difference, the Argentinian Football Federation is sticking with Maradona instead of sacking him how IFF sacked Daei, and by the time Argentina plays Peru, it might be too late for AFF to sack Maradona, they may at that point not qualify and have to go to a playoff round.

Just thought it would be interesting to bring this up as it draws so many parallels to Team Melli. And mods, if I should have posted this in General Discussion, I apologize in advance.

They will qualify to WC, don't even doubt it! Big teams always find their way up there. Do not even bother comparing Iran's football and their respective federations and even HCs to that of the likes of Argentina's... Nothing is there to be compared and justified!

having someone like maradona or daie as national team coach with no experience it's like putting a cook behind a race car driver and expect them to win the race and excuse it by saying he was a great great cook at once, so he can be a great driver....that's how much relationship is there between being a great player, and becoming a great coach.

You cant even begin to compare. Unfortunetly these circumstances are expected by the IFF but for a team like Argentina, that with the current team should be aiming to win the world cup, to make a mistake like this is our situation times 10.

But as mentioned, big teams usually find a way to qualify, and having said that, my guess is that if Argentina do qualify, they will do very well in the world cup. Whether or not theyll keep maradona is the question.
