the last world cup with Pellegrini (current real madrid coach), they looked like they should have won the WC with their amazing team play. And now with an even better side with Messi matured, Aguero matured, and Tevez they can barely score a goal. The blame is on tactics, Maradona needs to go, no offense to the man but he's someone who could barely control his own life.

      ^^
right..! i dont know what is this infatuation with national teams hiring their ex football stars as Head coach..!!?
i think it all started with klinsman in Germany, primarily due to home field advantage they have a good run in WC and suddenly he becomes one of hottest coaching commodities in football..!! Yet as expected he proves to be just a fluke and his lack of extensive coaching experience becomes evident during his first full-time coaching position at Byern..!!
chances are still good for Argentina to pull through somehow to the big show..! but they are taking a stupid, big risk, by keeping Maradona as coach..!
like you said, although a brilliant, talented player... he already burned half of his already limited brain cells by abusing drugs...!! even if he didnt, he is still a novice at head coaching especially at this level..!!

Diego Maradona To Finally Provide Real Madrid's Gonzalo Higuain With Argentina Call-Up - Report

The striker will finally be provided with an opportunity with Los Albicelestes...

Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain has not been taken into account up until now, but Diego Maradona will finally present him with a call-up to the Argentine national team.

Maradona, the coach of Argentina, travelled to Europe to speak to several players of which he will and will not take into consideration for next month's crucial World Cup qualifiers with Peru and Uruguay.

Argentina have struggled in all aspects of their game throughout the qualifiers, and Maradona believes their attack is in much need of a player who is capable of finding the back of the net on a regular basis.

'El Diez' may have been hesitant about calling up Higuain in the past, but regards the striker very highly and believes it is the perfect opportunity to give him a chance.

According to reports from Ole, the reason why Higuain hadn't been given an opportunity with the national team up until now is because he doesn't get along with both Gabriel Heinze and Fernando Gago.

Maradona has confirmed that Heinze and Gago will no longer be part of his squad, and this paves the way for Higuain.

Another player who will be part of the squad next month will be his Real Madrid team-mate, Ezequiel Garay. Maradona is keen on the defender, particularly because of his height.

Some of the other additions could possibly include Genoa team-mates Hernan Crespo and Rodrigo Palacio.

In the following days Maradona will reveal which other European-based players will make up his squad.

Argentina will not make it to the WC2010 with Maradona their coach. Argentinas last two games are against Peru at home and Uruguay at away. The last game will be hard for Argentina but they should beat Peru at home.
