It's very hard for me to believe that Hamed would genuflect to AN without compulsion, the kid seems to be a real nice, humble kid who by virtue of his sporting achievements was thrust upon a political stage that he has no desire to be a part of....I may be wrong of course, but I hope I'm right because I like Hamed jan a lot, and it would be crushing to lose respect for another famous athlete, after what Rezazadeh did recently....

Well, I don't want to defend his actions...but we have to understand where he is coming from. I am assuming he comes from a religious family, raised in a poor neighborhood in Iran....and his greatest talent and dream in life was to be a wrestler. I don't know about his education level, but I doubt it's at a substantial level. Also, he may be so busy with his wrestling career that it prevents him from really understanding the regime's horrible crimes against protesters. Simply, he may just be naive.

Because remember, before the elections, athletes were meeting with top IR officials all the time, including Team Melli players.

Either way, let's not forget the smiles and glory he brings to us!
