Good stuff, first the team made the World Championships and now they are in the finals. This is the farthest a senior Iranian volleyball team has ever made it in this tournament.
The good thing is due to proper planning and abundance of talent, Iran will hopefully have a good volleyball team for another 5 or 6 years at least. The next really big step is qualification for 2012 Olympics.
Also watching these teams just depresses me, realizing our football team has just as much potential but they can't do shit when it counts.

Other sports , even wrestling , does not get the attention that football gets in Iran nor the heavy investment.
That is why the achievement of the Basketball team earlier this year and now the Volleyball team is something to revel in and be proud of.

Quite remarkable. Iranian players started very strongly and series of defensive blocks by Zarini in addition to some great serves was the highlight of this set.
Japan is a very strong team though and showed glimpses of brilliance.
