Lehmann vs. Kahn (germany's goal keepers)

    http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/060407/7/6ht4.html

Lehmann has definitely been the better keeper in recent times. Klinsmann has been alternating the two keepers in every game for the last couple of years. The sign of a great manager, he doesn't just hand the no.1 jersey to either player....he makes them fight for it with good performances and creates healthy competition.

I think Klinsmann made the right choice, do you?

It's a shame cuz Kahn's always been my one of my favourite goalies. I think he's a better goalie.

Lehmann vs. Kahn (germany's goal keepers)

Lehmann won the battle. He will represent germany at least in it's 1st game vs. costa Rica. Kahn probebly refuse to be the second in command.

I merged the 2 threads because each one only had 2-3 posts.

              Lehmann deserves it.

Lehmen used to be good, but inconsistent and made stupid mistakes
Now he has improved in every aspect, is consistent and doesn't make stupid mistakes.
                Lehman definately deserves it

I think Lehmann might be the better keeper as of now, but when it comes down to it Oliver Kahn should get the call, he did great in WC02, and I think the team gels much better with him than with Lehmann, plus Lehmann has that arrogant attitude which might throw of some of there backline. Either one would be a great choice I think its both of those 2 guys last WC, as Hildebrand is the future.

Lehmann by a mile. 6-7 clean sheets in a row in Euro competition. HE rarely makes a mistake.
Kahn is one of the best ever, but i think his time is up. Im soo happy to have seen Kahn at the Azadi. Great experience.

I think the form of a player (especially a goalkeeper) is absolutely crucial. Take our own Mirzapour as an example. The guy gets worse with every match and makes even more shocking mistakes just when you think it can't get any worse.

Kahn has made some fatal blunders in recent games and his confidence is down. I really dislike his arrogant attitude of "This alternating goalkeepers has affected my performances" and that some people even claim Klinsmann has been torturing him!

If Kahn can't handle the competition and prove himself worthy of Germany's number one, then he frankly doesn't deserve it. Lehmann, by contrast has flourished over the past year and has finally shaken off his inconsistency. As the article states, he has kept 4 clean sheets in the 2-legs against Real Madrid and Juventus, and this with an inexperienced, young, error-prone Arsenal back four. Quite some achievement I'd say.

In my opinion, Lehmann is in better form, Kahn is a better keeper. I mean having the WC2002 player of the Tournament be second choice is kind of harsh on Kahn, do you guys remember Lehmann for the gunners last year? he had such a terrible run that he was dropped and Almunia (who is one of the worst pro keepers i have ever seen) started instead of him, in all honesty, Kahn deserves the No 1 spot.
