I have nothing against new teams making the WC, don't get me wrong. It's just that Argentina, Turkey and France are one of my favorite teams after Iran.

Seriously, a WC without Brazil/Argentina just isn't the WC for me as it would have been if they would be there.

What are the odds though, that this same Argentina that is struggling to qualify...will get to the WC and win it?? Then Maradona will basically be made God Incarnate.
You often find teams that really struggle to qualify then go on to do well in the tournament, think Germany in 2002 making the final after nearly messing up the qualifying, e.t.c.

except that i highly doubt if diego gonna be their coach if they are able to pull themselves together in time to qualify..!! wouldnt surprise me to find that he is fired even prior to the next match..!!

i know for fact that European teams all going to choke and its gonna be most probably brazil or argetina if they get through this rough patch to raise the trophy..!!
look for african teams to have a good tourney mostly at the expense of Europeans and even some of the asian teams to got to second round at least like korea, aussies and japan..!!

well thats debatable because our football has many problems cuz of politics and people's mentallity, blaming it on one guy is not fair. As far as daei being a player we obviously saw that we have no good strikers so whether he played until 37 or not didnt matter cuz we still wouldnt have scored. But having him there was atleast a threat to other teams cuz of what he had done in the past. As far as coaching goes, we were in a desperate situation to get a coach and no pro coach would've wanted to work in iran so out of desperation they gave him the job. He didnt expect it and just took it to help iran. I think that should be praiseworthy. Sure he wasnt a great coach cuz he didnt have much experience and working with our federation and limited resources he couldn't have done miracles. Neither does any other coach. One thing u gotta give him is he did discover some good talents like khalatbari and ashjari.

Overalll, daei has done more good for us than bad, his good outweighs the bads by alot
