Real Madrid Icon Raul To Receive Award Prior To Real Valladolid Match - Report

The skipper will be presented with a memento for his 710th appearance for Los Merengues tonight...

Having broken Real Madrid legend Manuel Sanchis' league appearance record, Raul is now close to overtaking Sachis' overall appearance record.

Raul made his 526th league appearance for the club, his 710th in all competitions, in their defeat to Sevilla on October 4 and this landmark is set to be commemorated this evening.

ABC.es report that club president Florentino Perez and director Jorge Valdano will present Raul with a trophy before Los Blancos' match against Real Valladolid tonight.

He is then expected to line up for his 711th official appearance for Los Merengues, just one behind Sanchis' record of 712 matches in all competitions.

The 32-year-old has already broken a host of records for the club, holding such accolades as the club's top goalscorer, most international caps as a Real Madrid player and the top goalscorer in the Champions League.

have you even seen the group they were in? norway, scotland, macedonia and iceland. wow what a HUGE challenge depleted or not, russia completly raped sweden (didn't see the greece or spain game). and yeah they beat netherlands, but it wasn't because of luck, the better team actually won
