CSKA Moscow ?-? Manchester United
[will be posted tomorrow]
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Key Encounters:
Fernando Torres vs. Nemanja Vidic
last time around, Torres made a joke of Vidic and Vidic is looking to put up an awesome performance and shows that he is no flop in big games. Vidic was sent off in both fixtures of these 2 teams last year. we will have to see if Torres will be fit for the game, as Rafa mentions somethings about it in the post-Lyon game [Link provided above]
Patrick Evra vs. Glen Johnson
Manchester's attacking LB goes head to head against Liverpool's attacking RB. The winner of that encounter can very well affect the final outcome of the game
Steven Gerrard vs. Darren Fletcher
Fletcher will have to mark Gerrard. After leaving the pitch in the 20th minute tonight against Lyon, it is a question of whether Gerrard will be fit for the game or not. If he is, Darren Fletcher will be responsible to make sure that the G-Force won't see too much of the ball
Wayne Rooney vs. Daniel Agger
after being in sidelines for 2 weeks, Rooney is expected to come back for this game. Agger has been much better than Liverpool's other CBs (Carragher and Skrtel) this season, and he will have a very tough day against the former Everton man, who happened to be a scouse Wayne Rooney
and the most important of all:
Rafa Benitez vs. Sir Alex Ferguson:
Ferguson knows that an away win @ Anfield, can very well finish Rafa off. Benitez will know it is his last chance to get the team out of the current crisis. He knows Liverpool fans will immediately forget 4 losses in a row, if his team comes up with a convincing win against their main rivals, Manchester Unied. Benitez and Ferguson don't have a good history in media and papers as they would always bash each other. It will be interesting to read what they will say before the game as the derby nears.
