god what a crazy ass group that was
    Monaco 12pts
    Liverpool 10pts
    Olympiacos 10pts
    Deportivo 2pts
including many famous victories (OSFP 1-0 over Liverpool is one our finest victories) and an 8-3 circus show in Monaco v.s. Deportivo
none the less, it doesnt look good at all for Liverpool, worst case scenario: Liverpool lose both games and Debrecen win both, liverpool out of europe, debcrecen into europa league
I think that was some years before this group, Monaco were placed in a group with Depor and PSV. Finally Monaco and Depor went trough, even though PSV also had 10pts. It almost was the exact same happening as this group your talking about.
In it's last match PSV was 2-0 ahead, which meant that they would go through, but suddenly I think Luque scored a freekick goal and Depor went through.

        let's be patient

yes yes you are right, that was also the group which AEK was europe's whore, anyways both were crazy groups, and Liverpool is known for their comebacks, but from a Lyon point of view they have to think, do we want to potentially face Liverpool in later stages of the tourney? (granted both teams make it past the round of 16) or would we rather have fiorentina there?

ultimately, I think viola will win

teams are more professional now Demis.
I think even if Viola win, it's because of their own efforts, not Lyon's laziness or willingness to lose or what so ever. all I have to do is making sure Liverpool smash Debreceni and Lyon won't lose. and then we have been in that situation like 500 times. beating Fio 3-0 is very very hard. but with all players fit by that time, it is definitely possible.
imagine its 3-1 for liveprool til 94th minute. which puts Viola through
            and then as usual
a GERRARD screamer right at the death

and this is what Lyon coach told the press :
Lyon coach Claude Puel has assured Liverpool his side will go to Fiorentina looking for a win in two weeks' time.
Liverpool can still qualify from Champions League Group E if they win their remaining two games - but only if Lyon, who are already through to the knockout stages after Wednesday's 1-1 with the Reds, avoid defeat in Florence.

Even then it could come down to which team has the best head-to-head record.

But Puel said: "We will play fair. We want to win the group and avoid getting a tougher draw in the next stage.

"Liverpool have no need to fear what may happen. We will play to win the game and that will leave the situation in Liverpool's hands to win their last two games and go through themselves."

EPL no way its already over. livepool will fight for the 4th place.

I dont like bashing liverpool, I just like seeing smaller teams beating the top teams and to see new faces in the later rounds.

last year this time after 11 weeks:
Liverpool and Chelsea had a 7 points lead over United.
                  but comes in may

United won the league having 4 more points than Liverpool and 7 more than Chelsea.
I am not saying we will win it, All I am saying is, it's not over.

and about the second part of your statement, I guess you like Rubin Kazan eh

Yeah but what I see from Liverpool's squad and the mood of the team I dont see them winning the EPL.
Not that I like Rubin but I like these teams that give bigger teams lot of problems and dont just bend over and lose big.
