Shit happenso rly? any vid or pic of it?
IRI's politics is no different than handling a pressure cooker ..... As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.

We discussed this a bit in the Egyptian wife leaving Algerian husband thread. It's amazing how the age of fast media is opening peoples eyes to so many new things. There is a long history of violence associated with North African rivalries. This stuff simply doesn't happen in Egypt unless a "Maghreb" nation visits (and this incident in particular is unprecedented in Egypt). Within the Maghreb, this happens quite frequently.
Egypt's team bus was attacked in similar fashion in 2001 when Egypt traveled to Algeria for a World Cup qualifier. During the game, stones and bottles filled with urine were tossed onto the field resulting in 3 separate match stoppages. In 1989, Lakhdar Belloumi of Algeria took an Egyptian team doctor's eye out after their decisive World Cup qualifier; Interpol even got involved. Violence wrought the two nations' 1984 Olympic qualifier as well (I posted video of that).
If anyone thinks this all began yesterday, they're badly mistaken. By the way, I condemn this stupid "revenge" crap in the strongest terms, and am embarrassed by what those hooligans did yesterday. Hopefully there are no more incidents and the match itself is clean (might be wishful thinking).
