Real Madrid Need To Spend Lots Of Money To Beat Us - Barcelona Ace Xavi

The Blaugrana are not intent on humiliating their rivals, but just want the three points that will take them back to the top of the table...

Barcelona midfield maestro Xavi has declared that he is unconcerned about Real Madrid's approach to Sunday's derby.

While he knows that el Clasico has traditionally thrown up some unexpected results, he feels that the Blaugrana are better off by concentrating on their own game rather than that of their opponents.

"In these types of games, anything can happen. They are unpredictable matches," he told Marca.

"They play a different type of game, neither better nor worse. They have been victims of our success - they have had to spend a lot of money in order to counteract us.

"For the moment, they are doing well. They are above us, but I don't like talking about a game of the youth system against the wallet. I know what sort of game we want, we know what our philosophy is and, the truth is, that of our rivals doesn't interest me a lot."

The last el Clasico finished 6-2 to the Blaugrana - a humiliating night for los Blancos in the Santiago Bernabeu. However, Xavi has declared that Pep Guardiola's men aren't looking to repeat the scoreline, but instead are more focused on returning to the top of the Primera Division.

"We will go out with respect because it's always difficult to beat Real Madrid and thinking about a thrashing doesn't do us any good - we just want the three points and to go back to being the leaders."

Barca fans on this forum or Barca fans in general?

In any case you can't really consider what Xavi said trash talk..! at the end he said we need to come out with RESPECT, because he knows Madrid is a more than worthy opponent.

its a rivalry, and not just any rivalry, one of the most epic rivlaries in Europe even the world. you don't think players take little cheap shots here and there... and what he says is true, is it polite? no but you can't deny that there is truth behind what he said. why do you think Madrid assigned Perez? and btw you can pretty much say whatever you want after you've just won the treble.

why else did madrid spend half a billion on players then?
if you didn't get humiliated by barca 2-6 at home you would have never gone crazy to make another goozlacticos.

right when it said goal.com as the source, i knew it was gonna get outta hand. they take something and blow it out of proportion. first of all, xavi didnt say it like that at all. read or watch his interview from the barcelona website and youll understand what i mean. the link to the barca home page is on the first page of this thread. and plz dont give me bullshit about "unclassy" barca when compared to real madrid

edit: nvm about the unclassy part...i misunderstood ur point. my bad.

i think pellegrini's lost it. he may rule out ronaldo:
                          http://goal.com/en/news/12/spain/200...r-cent-fit-for

and is going to put in benzema over higuain:
                          http://goal.com/en/news/12/spain/200...r-benzema-over

but since its from goal.com, it may not be 100% true. however, this is good news for barca if it were to be true.

he is crazy if he starts benzema over higuain who is clearly better.
I got a feeling ronaldo will make a sub.

76 million € in transfers. Only Ibrahimovic is their most expensive transfer.
Seven starting-eleven players from the “cantera” (home-grown players)
Guardiola, the coach of reference. His style is based on hard work and sacrifice.
                              MADRID, the financial powerhouse:
270 million € in transfers. Florentino build a good team only with money
Only Casillas is a starter (home-grown). There’s no “club” feeling and they lack commitment
Pellegrini just obeys what he’s told. The president and Valdano tell the coach what to do.
                              Captain’s needle:
Puyol: “I can’t see Madrid because I’m not looking at them”
Messi feels better and Cristiano still feels some discomfort.
The day Guardiola arrived late to a training. Great ovation from his players.
