Real Madrid Need To Spend Lots Of Money To Beat Us - Barcelona Ace Xavi
The Blaugrana are not intent on humiliating their rivals, but just want the three points that will take them back to the top of the table...
Barcelona midfield maestro Xavi has declared that he is unconcerned about Real Madrid's approach to Sunday's derby.
While he knows that el Clasico has traditionally thrown up some unexpected results, he feels that the Blaugrana are better off by concentrating on their own game rather than that of their opponents.
"In these types of games, anything can happen. They are unpredictable matches," he told Marca.
"They play a different type of game, neither better nor worse. They have been victims of our success - they have had to spend a lot of money in order to counteract us.
"For the moment, they are doing well. They are above us, but I don't like talking about a game of the youth system against the wallet. I know what sort of game we want, we know what our philosophy is and, the truth is, that of our rivals doesn't interest me a lot."
The last el Clasico finished 6-2 to the Blaugrana - a humiliating night for los Blancos in the Santiago Bernabeu. However, Xavi has declared that Pep Guardiola's men aren't looking to repeat the scoreline, but instead are more focused on returning to the top of the Primera Division.
"We will go out with respect because it's always difficult to beat Real Madrid and thinking about a thrashing doesn't do us any good - we just want the three points and to go back to being the leaders."
