In fairness to Memphis, I would do the same thing they are doing right now if I was in charge of that team. Gasol has developed into an elite center in this league, so I'd give him atleast 35 minutes a night. The extra 10-15 minutes I'd give to the young guy I just drafted 2nd overall in Thabeet. If you make an expensive committment with a pick that high, you might as well put all your resources into helping the guy develop into the best he can be.
I would try to trade Haddadi, which I'm pretty sure is what will end up happening around the trade deadline this year. Hamed will get an opportunity to show what he can do somewhere, but it won't be in Memphis.

that would be great if they trade him but the problem is other teams dont know his value cuz he hasnt played. it's best if they trade him as part of a deal with another player or two...cuz yea the way its going, he wont get any playing time unless one of them gets seriously injured

karmas a ***** haha...memphis is up 20 in the second half, dont consider putting in haddadi on iranian heritage night, and the clippers finish with a 23-0 run and win by 10
i actually saw it on T.V. live, it was very impressive. I have never seen such a lopsided quarter, literally EVERY SINGLE memphis possession was either a turnover or blocked shot which led to a 3 or a layup on the other end. It was comical, the commentators couldnt believe what they were seeing.
and the grizz shot like 65 percent in the first half too lol

strangely, hollins, coach of grizzlies thinks hamed is improving alot

Memphis Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins said on Wednesday that Hamed Haddadi, the first Iranian player in the NBA, has improved a lot and has a good future in the league.
Answers from Memphis Grizzlies Coach Lionel Hollins are as follow:
Iranian Hamed Haddadi has had limited minutes so far this season. What can you say to Iranian fans who look forward to seeing him play?
Hamed`s fans will have to be patient. We have a lot of talent at center with guys like Marc Gasol, Hasheem Thabeet and Hamed. His time will come eventually.
How would you assess Hamed since entering in to the league? Can he remain hopeful about his future in Memphis?
He`s improved a lot. From last year to this year he`s been amazing in his level of improvement. Where he`s come from to where he is now has been a huge jump. He obviously has a long ways to go. The thing that he has to work on now is his effort, energy and passion for the game. I think he has a good future in Memphis if he works on those things.
Will you likely assign Hamed to the D-League?
No. There`s not a chance at this time of him being sent to the NBA D-League.
What elements of his game do you suggest he works on in order to become a regular in the rotation?
He needs to work on everything. There`s never just one thing as a basketball player you need to work on until you become an All-Star player. Then, when you are at that level, there`s specific parts of your game you start working on. Until you become that type of player, you need to work on every part of your game" rebounding, defense, boxing out, screening, scoring in the post and passing. Hamed is trying extremely hard to get to that point, and he has improved dramatically since he first arrived.
