i think the "Hate for his dad" is some media made up :bs: to have something to dramatize about..!!
it always bothered me that he felt that way still about a person who was integral in him being the person he is today and not just another unimportant kachal..!! but he explained the hate issue quite well in this interview..!!

and yea its a shame that some of us here in States have to claim to be from another country just to avoid the huge, embarrassing stigma attached to being an iranian..!!
but tbh i cant blame him...!! he was a popular figure in a time when it was really hard to be a proud iranian in US. In the midst of the ir revolution and american hostage era and all..!! hell my oldest brother who responsible for bringing all of us over here still claims to be a greek
and while we at it, even i adopted Armenia as a better alternative to greece which my brother was insisting me to do.!! still cant say that it didnt offer me certain many advantages and opened many would have been closed doors in my eventual careers..!!
