Mohammad Banna's men beat Turkey 4-3, with Faghiri (55 Kg), Norouzi (60 Kg), Abdoli (66 Kg), and Akbari (96 Kg) giving Iran wins over their Turkish rivals.

Iran overpowered Cuba in the team's opening round and trounced a Nordic team composed of Swedish and Danish wrestlers in its second encounter. It then beat the hosts, Armenia, 4-3 in a closely fought semi-final.
A total of eight teams (Georgia, Turkey, Russia, Hungary, Iran, Cuba and a Nordic team) took part in the 2010 Greco-Roman Wrestling World Cup in Yerevan on February 12-14.

I think Iran's win is even more remarkable given how we hardly ever win in Greco roman

we always win something in olympics...pretty much all of our medals have been in wrestling and weightlifting, just recently in taekwondo

we just havent won a gold medal in the last one...and that was mainly due to the stupid rule of when u TIE, the last person who scored wins or there was another stupid thing where they randomly pull a ball out of a bag to determine the winner

that was the FILA World Cup, World Cup is a second tier competion after the World Championship. only top 8 teams in the last World Championships can compete in the World Cup, so USA didn't compete !

this is a great result, because Turkey, Russia, Armenia and Hungary sent their best wretlers to this competition !
