problem is maradona man. argentina got the best squad no doubt, even better than spain I would say but its the coach that bothers me. you cant just send good players on the field expecting success in a world cup.

Bingo...no team wins a tournament like this with a coach who has a year of coaching experience under his belt...never will that happen even with a squad made of 10 Messis and a Buffon in goal.

ppl need to stop worshiping Maradona and just love him for what he was as a player and accept that he wasn't the right choice for Arg. He will screw Arg's chances of one their better generations of footballers by coaching them this summer.

although I surely think Spain is one of the candidates, I can not believe that nearly %50 of the the members here voted for Spain!!! I mean considering this a country that has never won a wc and it surely not an invincible team. Remember that phsycological factors play a huge role in WC and bigger names have what Spain doesn't have..."Confidence and believe to win the WC".

I would put Spain in the last 4, but winning it, I am not so sure.

I voted for argentine..! But they got a very tough road to the final.
If I were a betting man and looking for a big pay-day I would put a sig. Wager on Paraguay winning it all. They got the easiest road to a possible final, and a well organized, solid Defence ( which traditionally wins championship )

yeh after watching the first games i actually think spain were brilliant given how they kept the ball, even despite thier loss. Argentina has come up against nigeria who is a shit team, about Irans standard and then south korea which is again Irans standard. Switzerland arent the best but everyone would have saw them as a potential 2nd place if they could better chile. Argentina are playing awesome at the moment but we will see how it gos. Argentinian defence has made huge errors as has spain. I voted brasil btw at the time lol. I think my favouritse at the moment are argentina, brasil and spain from what i have seen.

And obviously Nigeria will beat Korea.
But that will happen only after ridiculous red cards, PKs, offsides not called, on-side goals called offsides etc etc 4 against Korea and 1 against Nigeria. And they will call the judging fair because they went "both ways".

And after that FIFA will issue self congratulatory BS about how this WC has been a huge success and how it showcased the "African spirit" that overcame all odds.

And then Nigerica may find a quick exit in the round of 16 and Paraguay win it all.

stop complaining. The refereeing so far on average has been just as good as the premier league or la liga or champions league. This is what football is like. This is why blater needs to stop being a dick and introduce video replays for refs.
