all jokes aside, its not over yet, lebron and cavs can really light it up today and beat the celtics to go back home for game 7

Halftime 2 Point lead for Boston.

Cavs look ok till now. Now Lebron has to step up with more power its do or die game.

Mo has a big game till yet with 20 Points!

COME ON CAVS WE CAN DO IT!

Cavs are out. Lebron had a good game but its simple. Basketball is not a one man or a two man game. All players have to step up. Jamison sucks big defensivly KG owns him big in almost every game and offensivly he sucks in the last 3 games.
Mo stepped up tonight but not overall good.

Lebron had a triple double tonight but he can not do everything alone. He should leave cleveland. By the way their coach sucks, too.

He was one turnover away from a quadruple double!

damesh garm though he did play hard but he's just not that game changer a lot of people think he is. and people can't say he's on a weak team anymore, jamison oneal and their point guard are all good players

jamison sucks the whole time he is in cleveland. dont know why people come out and start hatin lebron now. Its easy now for people like PB. The sit in the corner when he owns Boston in Game 3 at the Garden and now run out to start hatin. He is the best Player in the Nba along D-Wade and Kobe and he will dominate the next years and win the title he deserved.

actually I liked Lebron a lot. Yeah I still think he has ways to go to catch Kobe becasue he lacks the skill set and mental toughness of Kobe but I still thought of him as the second best player in the league. Thats not hating What disappointed people in regards to Lebrn as Tim Legler on ESPN said wasnt the fact that he went 3-14. It was the fact that he quit on his team and wasn't even active. As he said, there is no way Bird, MJ or Kobe would have gone down without a fight. Lebron didn't do that.

This part of an article on yahoo is what I agree with 100% and it reflects my sentiments. He is waaay more involved with making money and being popular than winning which is what MJ and Kobe would give an arm and a leg for:

anyone who can't see that Kobe is by far the best player in the league could give stevie wonder a run for his money. While an injured bynum and a celtics with 4 (possibly 5) hallfamer peaking might mean the lakers won't win the championship, it still shouldnt take anything away from what Kobe has been doing.

6 straight 30+ point games with the last one 40 which could have easily been 50 if it hadn't been for the suns being raped. All of this with 3 major injuries. Simply amazing.

I hope you're not trying to suggest that Rasheed Wallace is a possible Hall of Famer, because that's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard.

Now that I hear you say it, you are right! He won't be a hall of famer but you have to agree he is one of the best roleplayer/star player hybrid players of alltime. I have been watching this guy since he drained that halfcourt shot aginst arkansas in the 95 final 4 and he has always been up there.

they need to give the suns 10 points to start each game because its just not fair for them to play with channing frye and robin lopez...just embarassing. Lopez looks like he runs a 10 second 40 and a vertical of 2 inches, and forget the fact that frye would miss the ocean if he was shooting out of a boat, but when he gave the ball to fisher and then just ran into the crowd when chasing him for absolutely no reason and gave up that offensive board, i think that was one of the worst plays ive ever seen. Even worst than the last game when he had the ball with the shot clock turned off with 12 seconds left, but took a shot anyway (not before stepping out of bounds mind you) and then shot an air ball. But i was shocked yet again and witnessed an even worse play courtesy of amare stoudemire and his incredible defense on pau gasol.

                          go to 4:24

ARE YOU KIDDING?! WTF ARE YOU THINKING?! Watching that live was horrifying enough, but then on the replays you saw kobe yelling to gasol "GO, GO, GO!" and amare is still just standing there!!!! The thing i hate most about amare is that right after this play and this other play where he got blocked by kobe and then missed a follow up dunk, i said watch, within the next 30 seconds he is going to do something really good to make up for it, and i was right both times. WHY CANT YOU PLAY LIKE THAT ALL THE TIME?! WHY DO YOU HAVE TO **** UP SO YOU CAN PLAY GOOD FOR 5 SECONDS!? THIS IS THE CONFERENCE FINALS!!! YOURE GETTING YOUR ASSES KICKED! ****!

oh and alvin gentry is the worst coach ever. Everyone always makes fun of his little "wired" pep talks in the huddle. "Cmon guys, lets play our game now..cmon now..."
                          retarded.
And usually when coming out of a time out, or especially halftime, most coaches come out with a decent play that would get you an easy basket, or at least a good look. Not alvin! Turnover every time. Bravo.

young man, what you fail to realize is that half of this game in the playoffs is done mentally. This is why orlando and suns players were doing fine in the regular season and once they faced up an actual team they started to miss "open" jumpers. Intimidation is one thing the celts won't be able to do once they face the lakers and unfortunately the lakers won't be able to do once they face the celts.

btw, I see you are hatin on your fellow rival wildcat (frye) and another fellow pac10 dude lopez of stanford. Seems like you are feelin like a true sundevil ow!

                              lakers - celtics classic final

might as well end the conference finals now...

                              Comment

Assuming the Lakers close the Suns out, this finals match up against the Celtics will be the most anticipated series since the late 80's, I'd say probably since the 1989 rematch against Detroit's "Bad Boys". You could argue the 1991 Lakers-Bulls series, but that was Jordan's 1st time in the Finals while Magic Johnson and the Lakers were already on the way down. None of the other Jordan era series were really a big deal/rivalry since they involved small market/mediocre franchises (Portland, Suns, Sonics, Utah). The Shaq/Kobe era championships weren't a big deal either (Indiana, Philadelphia, New Jersey). There was never really a doubt who would win those series, and there were no rivalries between the teams.

But the 1989 rematch against Isiah and the Pistons was probably the last time you had a series that had the entire nation ready in anticipation of a huge series involving 2 dominant rivals loaded with superstars/Hall of Famers (Magic, Karim, Worthy, Isiah, Dumars, Rodman, etc.) The Lakers had won it in 7 games in 1988, with Detroit coming back to sweep 4-0 in 1989.

2004 Lakers-Detroit (with Shaq, Kobe, Payton, Malone) was highly anticipated as well, but I wouldn't put it on the same level as 1989 because they had never faced before and there was no rivalry.

But there are too many sub-plots to this coming Lakers-Celtics series. Not only did Boston hand Kobe the most bitter defeat he's ever had in his career 2 years ago, they have never lost a series when their current starting 5 has played. But the Lakers didn't have either Artest or Bynum in that series either.

Guys, starting Thursday, get ready for a war that you'll see in your lifetime on average once every 20 years, and maybe never again.
