Fernando Torres WC hopes in serious doubt as he undergoes a knee surgery

Liverpool FC have confirmed that striker Fernando Torres will undergo surgery on a knee injury later this evening.
A club spokesman said: "Fernando saw a specialist in Spain earlier today and it was decided that he would need surgery on a torn cartilage in his right knee.
"This will be carried out later tonight. We cannot comment ahead of the operation, but as a guide, the usual rehabilitation period for this type of procedure is around six weeks."
meaning he'll be ready in first 2 weeks of June but still need time to get match fit and all that, while the team for WC is selected in May. WC begins on June 11
will Del Bosque include him in their squad ?
such a shame, get well Fernando, 3rd time he's had the chance to play his former club Athletico and will miss it again with injury.
hopefully we'll win the EL for you
get a good rest from now until August, something you haven't had for the last 3 years and comeback stronger than ever next season
    I am in tears

COME ON TORRES, PULL A ROONEY AND MAKE A MAGICAL RECOVERY

Del Bosque could take a half injured Torres to WC and by rushing him probably ruin his career for ever.

I hope he considers the benefit of Torres as the lad is in need a long rest.

I ****ing knew he'd get injured when Luisao and Luiz knocked the shit outta him in Portugal.

I guarantee you, his rehabilitation period is 6 weeks, which means beginning of June, but he will need 2-3 weeks to start practicing with the ball and get match fit and with intensity of WC, he'll just get injured of DB plays him there and have to have an early goodbye to his career like Van Basten

        ffs

        gutted, fukin gutted.

        Michael Owen all over again

insignificant troll, he is one of the main reasons Villa scores so many goals for NT. Torres creates the space for him

and again, who won Spain the Euro cup in 2008 by scoring that super hard goal vs Germany ? , oo yea good for Spain that he is missing

i was gutted when i heard this cos you need the best striker in the world to be in the world cup. Hes better than, rooney, drogba, villa, and all the other out and out strikers by a mile.
I cant believe how anyone could even think that villa is better than torres.

EDIT: pedro is a good player but the difference between him and torres...

now im sure spain wont win the wc.

I don't think Torres is the best ST in the world

simply because of his injuries, he's not quite reliable for a tournament or a campaign, thus I would take David Villa, that said Torres is 4 years younger than him.

however, If I had to choose a ST for one single game, it would be Nando

Don't give a rubbish about Spain, however I want him to play vs Chelsea and wreck their title chances.. Now i am doubting whether Liverpool can beat Chelsea at Anfield.

                            ARGH..
I've learnt it's not what you have in your life, but who you have in your life that counts
