He hasnt done anything for Spain last few matches he played anyway. David Villa on his own does a much better job. Plus Spain are not short of strikers.

he did it when it mattered. also scored 3 in confed' cup

ps. @ Hussain, I think Rafa will play Kuyt up front with Gerrard behind him, of course depending on the outcome of the tie vs Athletico which will be held 3 days before the game @ Anfield.

with the form Terry is in, I fancy myself to get the better of him, let alone Ngog

torres' time at liverpool has been shitty. he gets injured like every month.

and its not in serious doubt. they said itll take him 6 weeks to recover. wc is in 8 weeks i think.

Thats terrible news for spain... hopefully they can fill that gap with the wide assortment of world class strikers they have. Though pedro and bojan may not have as much individual talent, they are really good team players and could help villa score plenty of goals.

poor liverpool: now we gotta play the rest of the europa league without him. still we can win it without him on paper. but for the second time he has a chance to face his former team he gets injured again. poor spain: if he doesnt get match fit in time, even though they have an immense amount of talent, spain's chances of taking the cup would be significantly hurt without him no doubt

Torres said: "We explored all our possibilities before deciding upon an operation. The meniscus was affected and the doctors thought surgery was best.

"The injury occurred in the second minute of the Benfica match at Anfield. I played 85 minutes with an injured knee and if I had been thinking about the World Cup, I would have asked to be substituted right there and then.

"I would have loved to return to Atleti and come face to face with the fans again, but I will have many more opportunities in the future."

Torres is confident he will be back in time for the World Cup in June.

He added: "I have been waiting four years for this and, if all goes well, I do not anticipate missing it. I have already begun recovery work today."

seems like he is really wiling to participate, guess Del Bosque is the one taking the risk now. good to see he scored 2 goals with an injured knee

as for Shayan20, here is the plan
park the bus both legs, 2 0-0 draws

then penalties, and Reina is top 3 penalty savors in the world, and we win
                    same for the final game

and this man should play upfront not Ngog

but knowing Rafa, he will shock us all and play Gerrard as ST

ARGH poor liveropol bla bla bla BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY Torres has probably missed out on Spain's biggest chance of winning WC in DECADES.

I would never say this for a scouser, but I wish him a speedy recovery
