Barca vs Milan: Marquez can be beat

I am a huge Barcelona fan and I was very happy with the result against AC Milan. Rafael Marquez, Mexico's best defender, and in my opinion best player, was back in action for the first time in over a month. The more I was watching him the more I realized the mistakes he frequently makes and how he can be beat. For example one time he held onto the ball too long near the midfield and lost the ball once the Milan midfield started pressuring. This led to a Milan counter-attack which caused Puyol to make a desperate tackle that led to him getting a yellow card. He was also beat a couple of times in and around the box and in the air.

All in all I think he is a superb defender but if Iran can put pressure on him then he will make mistakes. Karimi can beat him on the ground. Vahid and probably Daei can beat him in the air. What do you guys think?

Any player can be beat. It doesn't matter if it is Marquez, Terry, Nesta, or Ferdinand. They can still be beat. As long as that perfect level of confidence is there (between no confidence and arrogance), I have no doubt that we will surprise and shock many of our stronger (at least on paper) opponents.
We thank and support Mr.Kamran Delan for many years of dedication and service to Iranian Football Community.

He is one of the easiest player when he plays a center back. But he is tough in defesive midfielder role!

Marquez is a fine player, put that down to lack of match preparation. I thought he marshalled Shev and Gilardino well.

If anyone, Ronaldinho had a stinker, with his only worthwhile touch being the assist for Giuly's goal.

You made a good point. I have already noticed his mistakes time ago. Puyol always saves him as a last resort.
Playing for Mexico team, Marquez has always been defender, but Lavolpe is thinking in moving him to midfielder and leave
Claudio Suarez (37 years old) or Joel Huiqui instead of him. Javier Rodriguez (our tallest defender player 1.84) and Carlos Salcido are going to be the other 2 defenders.

If you are comparing Marquez with someone like Nosrati, I think you are making a big mistake. I don't mean Marquez is a great player, but lol, come one, he clearly outplays Nosrati and even our best defender, Rezai.

Marquez is a great defensive midfielder but if you gonna positioning him center back he is gonna lack the experience of a defender and the reflexes of one..

the problem with marquez is that he doesn't knows what a attacker wants to do..

so he always gotta repair his mistake..

he just don't have the talents that a defender need
