The only reason Diego is calling him up is because Palermo scored the goal that sent Argentina to the WC (92nd min goal vs Peru)

And just for that reason, he may make the WC squad over Milito who has had a superb year himself.

Messi, Tevez, Aguero, Higuain and Palermo I think will be Argentina's final strikers.

BTW no Gago and Gabi Milito either for Argentina

the coach is seriously stuffing up 2 young players with potential.

18 titles, five European Cups - is Chelsea a bigger club?

lol, yeah i know who they are.. haha, btw
gomes brought into the brazil squad.. seems spurs keeping moving up the world!

If Wayne Bridge was fit, i wouldn't even put him in the squad. Baines and Warnock have been way better, but not recognised by many people.

pato is injured...he's not even back for milan yet, theres no way he can play

diego was MEH at juventus this year...but he was certainly more deserving a spot than Melo

Am I the only one thats surprised that Chelseas best defender of the season, and the one that has organised them to a solid unit, is not there? Talking about Alex here. I think he's a top draw player. Lucio and Juan deserve their place, but I'm not sure about Thiago Silva.. Alex should DEFINITELY be in the squad atleast.

Victor Valdes has been faultess for years now. he's my fave keeper

Reina, casillas are also top class. tough luck for him cause in any other country he would be nr 1.

not denying he is an excellent keeper.
just thought "he's been faultless for years" is a tad premature. he's had his days in years, but also some really bad ones, which he has improved and minimized this year.

yea, Spain has a big pool of talents in every single area of the pitch

                            South Korea

Kim Young-kwang (Ulsan), Lee Woon-jae (Suwon), Jung Sung-ryong (Seongnam); Kang Min-soo (Suwon), Kwak Tae-hwi (Kyoto), Kim Dong-jin (Ulsan), Kim Hyung-il (Pohang), Oh Beom-seok (Ulsan), Lee Young-pyo (Al Hilal), Lee Jung-soo (Kashima Antlers), Hwang Jae-won (Pohang), Cho Won-hee (Wigan), Cha Du-ri, Cho Yong-hyung (Jeju); Koo Ja-cheol (Jeju), Ki Sung-yong (Celtic), Kim Bo-kyung (Oita), Kim Nam-il (Tom Tomsk), Shin Hung-min (Pohang), Kim Jae-sung (Pohang), Kim Jung-woo (Gwangju), Lee Chung-yong (Bolton), Kim Chi-woo (Seoul), Park Ji-sung (Manchester United); Park Ju-young, Ahn Jung-hwan (Dalian Shide), Lee Seung-ryul (Seoul), Yeom Ki-hun (Suwon), Lee Keun-ho (Jubilo Iwata), Lee Dong-guk (Jeonbuk)

Lee Wong Jae is the gk who played in 2002 and was the captain i think
Lee Young Pyo is a left back who played for Tottenham and Dortmund
Lee Chung young and Park Ji sung obviously....
Lee Dong Guk is a striker who played for Boro right, he was a flop, however his season he's been prolific against all opposition so should go to the world cup with confidence. I won't be understimating him.

Ahn did score the Golden Goal against Italy in 2002. Never played in Holland, but was famously sacked by the chairman of his Italian club at the time, Perugia. He's played in Italy, France, Germany, but never had any success in Europe. Actually he's never had quite the impact at club level that he has had for the national side.

One glaring omission from your preliminary squad list, Park Chu-Young. He's by far Korea's best goal scorer/striker. He was having a torrid season for Monaco until some recent niggling injuries.

Cho won-hee was signed by Steve Bruce at Wigan, but never got any playing time under Martinez. Currently he's been loaned back to his old Korean Club, Samsung Suwon.

The preferred top 11 will likely be:
                            Lee WJ
Lee YP - Lee JungSu- Kwak TaeHwi- Cha DuRi
Park JiSung- Kim Jung Woo- Ki SungYong- Lee ChungYong
Park Chu Young - Lee Keun-Ho
I've learnt it's not what you have in your life, but who you have in your life that counts
