What's the biggest loss a team has suffered in the World Cup en route to winning the championship? When and against what team?

Hungary 8 Germany 3 in the group stage of the 1954 World Cup. A few weeks later they met again in the final with Germany winning 3-2.

What's the largest gap in years in between World Cup appearances for a team? What years and team?

    Norway, 1938-1994.

What's the lowest number of goals a World Cup finalist has scored en route to the championship game? Probably the answer for total and average goals will yield the same team/year.

Argentina, 1990. Only scored 5 goals in 7 games as they finished 2nd.

What player has played in two World Cup Championship games but represented a different country in each? What countries/years?

Osri from Argentina/Italy. He played in Argentina's losing side against Uruguat in the 1930 final and 4 years later played in Italy's winning side against Czechoslovakia and even scored one of the goals.

Who was the first Asian team to play in the World Cup? What year?

    Indonesia, 1938.

Who was the youngest player ever to get a red card in the World Cup? From what country, what year and how old?

Song from Cameroon vs. Brazil, 1994 at age 17.

What player received a red card in a semifinal match and yet still played in the Final game? What country and year?

Garrincha from Brazil was sent off in the 1962 semifinal match against Chile but Brazil appealed the red card and thus he was permitted to play in the championship game.

Upon completion of their semifinal games, how many World Cups were guaranteed to have a first time champion?

    5. All other World Cup finals had at least one team that had previously been a World Cup champion.

    1930 (obviously) Uruguay-Argentina
    1934 Italy-Czechoslovakia
    1954 Germany-Hungary
    1958 Brazil-Sweden
    1978 Argentina-Holland

      Heres another trivia question:

What player has been on his country's roster as a player for two separate World Cups, both hosted by the same country? Just as a clarification, this player has also been on his country's player roster for other World Cups as well and not just the 2 World Cups in question.

France v.s. Senegal, only because at the time after winning the 98 WC and 00 EC, France looked like they could potentially have the greatest side ever assembled granted they had success in the wc 02 (just like spain now, i think if spain win the next EC they are a lock for best NT ever in a 4 year span)...well we all know what happened after to France

Assuming it's the 1970 and 1986 World Cups, why just check Brazil and Germany's rosters? There were other countries as well that participated in both of those World Cups such as Morocco, Bulagaria, Mexico, England, Italy, etc.
