I think the fact that :
1) Inter Milan are in the CL final
2) Barca are not
3) Ibra is on his way out after 1 season
4) Barca spent 34.2 million on a 29 year old
Shows that somebody made a big mistake last season. I never did understand why they signed Ibrahimovic - I just don't rate the guy and he wasn't going to improve their team or add a different dimension. Inter had by far the better of that deal. You know it's a sad situation when a team largely drawn from the ranks literally wins everything and does so playing great football and yet still has to sign a huge name for a huge fee just to keep up with their rivals, which is all it looked to be at the time and all it looks like now. And I wouldn't say the price is that big an issue - Villa is about putting the ball in the net and if he gives them 3-4 years and gets 20-30 goals in each of those years it's a good investmentI've learnt it's not what you have in your life, but who you have in your life that counts

Madrid management has to learn from this, sadly they care more about international superstars rather than homegrown. Madrid fans wanted Villa before Benzema, Ronaldo or Kaka were even considered in the squad. The Worker-communist Party of Iran (WPI)

how are barcelona run ?
where do they get all that money from ?
it seems RM and Barcelona can spend endlessly with no restrictions as it's football manager
266Million Euros NET spending by Barcelona since 2004-2005, not including Villa's transfer or possibly Cesc's. 308Million Euros if you include 2003-2004 transfer window.
which is NET SPENDING OF 50 MILLION EUROS PER SUMMER. NET SPENDING/season. wow
not to mention RM's

they get money from :

sponsors
prize money
advertising and jersey/merchandise sales
barca is one of the few clubs in the world who earn more than they spend (everything included, transfer fees, wages, etc)

Yeah Barca earns its own money, but we have to learn to spend it more wisely and not just bring someone good looking to please the fans or compete with Madrid in that respect.
Thats how its done, every year they do a major deal with a player to keep the fans happy. Otherwise they would be asking where all the money goes.

But with this David Villa signing i think they really didnt need it as there attack is great, so to part with Zlatan & Henry would be wise decisions, because they still have Bojan & Pedro.
But i think they need to bolster there defence as it is aging and slow

He is spanish he can communicate much better than Zlatan since its his home country, he aint leaving for another country with a very different football style, his case is ideal comparing to Zlatan's case. Thus all in all Villa is and will be the best option for either Barca or Real.

I think that people are missing the point with the Ibrahimovic business. Use him as bait? He's on a very lucrative contract at the moment, at one of the best clubs in the world, and one that he feels happy to play for. There are really only one or two clubs in all of world football who could afford to pay the kind of fee that Barca would want for him, and they're not necessarily the same as the one or two clubs that he would even consider moving to from Barca.
Really, Juventus is probably the only very credible option... and even that would be a regression of sorts. Maybe Bayern might come in as a wild card. But, other than that, City is probably the only other suitor, and without a really attractive history, without a stable squad, without the luxury of a warm climate or world city, and without champions league football, is that really attractive enough? He clearly doesn't need to play for the money ---> he's been a top wage earner throughout the entirety of his career.I've learnt it's not what you have in your life, but who you have in your life that counts
