No at last minute they decided not to "risk" him.
the argentinian were missed at maradona for not issuing them with a warning that messi wont play, because they came to see him

yeah it was a great finish.

England played poor at times, wasn't happy.

i have a feeling johnson will make a huge mistake for at least one of the goals against england. hes like maicon in the way that hes only picked for his offensive play, hes not very reliable and solid in the back.

i think englands next and final warm up game which will be shown on itv1 is against japan this sunday and coverage starts at 12.50pm, for i think 1-1.30 kick off i asssume.

He has improved defensively, I'm not too worried about his form. Baines was quite ineffective last night. I want Lennon to start ahead of Theo, because Lennon is much better on the ball. He knows when to attack, or when to pass back. Basically, he's decision making is much better.

yep, its on ITV 1 vs Japan.. The game is @ Austria.

funny how Johnson was darling of the media when he was @ Portsmouth ,but eversince joining Liverpool, the whole English media has turned against him and created some weird myth about his defending.

he's been responsible for maximum 4-5 goals Liverpool have conceded this season, but so have been Sagna, Maicon, Dani Alves, and Ramos for their respective teams. but Johnson also contributes to a lot of goals scored by the team. yet there is an agenda against him in sky sports, red cafe, arsenal-mania, and etc.

only if Walcott wasn't a donkey and a proper winger like Lennon plays there ,England's Right side will be very very strong and a real threat for all oppositions. like the game vs Croatia in Wembley.

and Carrick shouldn't go to South Africa, he was awful last night....and has been dreadful for the past few months. even SAF benched him for the last 4-5 weeks

well said, but walcott also played great vs Crotia away, and therefore it's still a battle between him and Lennon for right wing.. i would definitely prefer Lennon

Carrick shouldn't go, but can you expect Tom Huddlestone and Scott Parker going instead? I doubt it.

I think Capello will try Lampard and Parker against Japan.

Dawson too, and maybe a second chance to King to redeem himself.

Bent has to score a hattrick to book his place in SA... lol, and looking forward to see Heskey too.

as for RBs, Sagna for me is perfect defensively, but he ain't half the player Johnson is going forward. Maicon is the best in the world because of the balance he maintains between defending and attacking, but even his mistake could have eliminated Inter from CL (letting maxwell run free without even trying to block or pressure him in build up to Pedro's goal)

It's ashame about Bent. He got a slight hamstring injury before the Mexico game, and didn't get to come on.

Heskey seems to be out of favour with Capello now. It looks certain that Crouch will play beside Rooney, or 4-5-1, with Gerrard behind Rooney. However, i am pretty confident Capello will go with the tried and trusted 4-4-2.
