there is this hype atm that he is god, he is outta this world, mourinho this mourinho that bla bla.
let's face some facts.
1) his achievement with Porto was spectacular. one might say his team got wasy draws and that howler by Howard helped, but it was a great achievement nevertheless
2) about his Chelsea time. he arrive at Chelsea when they had spent more than 220M on new players in the past 2 summers. Man United were rebuilding (CR and Rooney were developing), Wenger had planned on his youth project and started selling the members of his invincible team, and Liverpool had just replaced their underachieving manager Gerrard Houllier and didn't half quarter of the money Chelsea had to compete in transfers. he won the league twice comfortable, but failed in CL with a much superior squad compared to Liverpool's twicei n 3 years (something Grant managed to do the year after), and also 2006 vs Barca. then when SAF's rebuilding was finally over, United regained the title, and his Chelsea seemed to be going down with 2 losses in the first 7-8 games of 2007/08 season where he quit.
3)then he chose to manage Inter, the already champions of Italy. had a shocking first season with horrible transfers (Mancini, Quaresma and Muntari) for total value of 50M (LOL). a shocking season in CL finishing below Panatinai*** in group stage with 8 points and got outplayed by United twice in the CL. however, things went so much better last summer. Mourinho's first targets were Carvalho and Deco, he failed to get those 2, so with help of Moratti he had to settle for alternatives which were Lucio and Sneijder (who turned out to be X200 time better than initial targets). then Barca came along with one of the most ridiculous tranfers in history of football basically giving them a proven winner and a good transfer budget. however to Mouinrho's credit, paying 16m for a 29 year old milito was questioned by many, but all were proven wrong, brilliant transfer that which paid off.
then they went to win the CL which they deserved, but in Serie A they weren't as dominant, and finally there was a close competition by Roma until the last day. and now that there is finally competition in Serie A, Mourinho is leaving again for his dream challenge.
Mourinho's achievements are absolutely amazing and being 8 years unbeaten @ home in 3 different leagues is great and he has already achieved SAF's total CL wins, but he ain't no god. he never had to worry about financial backing and took over the teams in driving seats of their respective leagues.
and one thing that I hate about him, is:
he leaves the clubs when it's the best time for HIM, not for the CLUB and it is very selfish of him.
he has time on his side to win CL with 4 teams, be the first to conquer all the major leagues and win more titles, and he will probably go down as one of the greatest in history of the game (with time, with his proven winner mentality), but he ain't no god or immortal thingy that people make him out to be.
he can be qualified to be greatest of all time, if he proves he can build teams after teams, and create a dynasty and empire of his own @ a club. not saying a poor club, but not a club with 60M net spend each transfer window.
