Australia did not play well and were a little unlucky too. I would not say they are a weak side yet.

The proper score line should have been something like 2-0. 4-0 resulted from the absolutely gratuitous red card.

I think Germany was unlucky not to score 4 more goals.
Australia had one half chance at the start then they had nothing.
the red card was deserved as well. Australian players were getting out of hand.
