well Iran normally does well vs. North Korea. Don't forget Iran beat North Korea 1-0 in Feb. And last year TM dominated vs. the Koreans in Tehran winning 2-1 and in Pyong Yang, unable to score which ended 0-0.

Oh btw, yes Brazil is ranked first and Iran unfortunately has never faced them off so yes North Korea have scored against a bigger team that Iran has ever faced. But don't forget Japan scored 2 wonder goals vs the Brazilians in Confed cup in 2005 and before they had lost 2-1 to Iran.

So i guess that's the biggest team Iran scored against back then. Oh and the biggest nation (according to FIFA rankings) Iran defeated in an actual world cup was vs USA in 98' when they were ranked 10th.

2.he had to rush the cross as the ball was in a hurry to go out..! he tried to hit a cross with inside of his foot but missed and the ball hit the slightly to the outside his boot and swerved towards the goal from that tight angle..!
3. he got luck ..! for most part..!
4. Yes and NO, yes a keeper's main responsibility is to cover the near side angle and not allow a goal from that angle..! NO because 19 out of 20 actual intended shots on goal from that tight of an angle especially when the shooter is on the run will be missed or go out..!! and its rather a smarter decision to opt to cover the more dangerous and probable play (a cross across the goalmouth)..!
Keeper took a calculated and intelligent risk by cheating a step up to cover the most probable danger from that play but it backfired on him..!
if you look at the play in regular speed (not slow motion), you too will see it my way, because he was not in full control of the ball with time to LOOK UP & see the gap and make a decision to shoot!! further proof is the surprised look on his face and the fact that he didnt act like he meant that as a shot all along..!!

NK is not such a special team..! they just play a very calculated, ultra defensive, anti football game, based purely on mathematical overall historic results..!
the only thing special about this NK as opposed to past is that they finally have found a keeper who doesnt give up tokhmy goals and a Great Manager who has successfully convinced his ENTIRE team to avoid all temptations to abandon their uber-defensive and very occasional counter-attacking tactics AT ALL TIMES ..! and play to the percentages and historic calculations ..!!
they have may be a couple of skilled footballers but the rest are no better than what you will find in azadegan league..!!

Current TM is the weakest in recent memory, no doubt..! Yet we still have a superior squad than the likes NK, UAE, etc.
Today it became quite evident what happens to the likes of NK against a halfway talented opponent when they actually line up to play FOOTBALL, rather than bunkering in your own half for 85 min. Playing boring 8-1-1 regardless of the scoreline..!
Still, I give the NKoreans props for their approach to today's game in the first half, they came into today's game with aspirations for advancing in this tourney rather than just saving face and bowing out in the least imbarrassing fashion. I was dissappointed to see them concede more than 4 goals but happy at least they managed to keep the record 8-0 loss of Saudi intact ..!

Saudis also scored 0 for the whole WC that year.
I think China also scored 0 goal.

But it is South Korea who hold the largest-margin-loss record. 0-9 vs Hungary who also defeated Germany 5-1 or something. They played on grass for the first time in their life and they refused to believe that there are playing fields with grass until they played their first game vs Hungary. They did not even have the time to check the playing field because they had a 48 hour trip and played Hungary several hours after their arrival!!!!

Oh yeah that was 1954. Yet Korea beat Iran 5-0 4 years later.

Congo tied the record in 1974 0-9 vs Yugo and El Salvador did it again 1-10 vs Hungary in 1982WC.

Sure its 0-0 now but these guys have been fab in my humble opinion.
If they beat Brasil...ok the chances are very slim...but they will become my new TM
