the team was fvcked much before France-Ireland match. Actually, during this game, France showed how rubbish was the coach.
Not inviting Benzema in the national team is a professional mistake.
Domenech had no more authority before the European Cup (two years ago). However FFF kept Domenech and did not want to hear about other candidates like Laurent Blanc or Arsene Wenger.
Even after the terrible French performance in the European Cup, still he was kept at his post. Then came the qualification for the WC when again France had a bad performance and there was only fighting in the team because of lack of authority of Domenech. FFF is the responsible for this terrible failure of French team in the WC.

On top of all that you said their federation made a huge mistake of already hiring and announcing domenech's replacement after world cup, weeks before the wc..! Yes it was a very wrong decision of the FFF not to fire Domenech after the European Cup, however you shouldn't ignore the fact that the players also wanted Domenech to stay with the team.
