    to lippi's defense a little bit though, all 3 teams they played didnt even attempt to attack they just played D and scored on set pieces, only slovakia attacked a little bit after they got gifted the first goal

          i know, it was kinda funny how slovakia were ultradefensive against new zealand, but against italy they decide to attack lol

            Last tournament Italy started under the radar and by the time people noticed they were in the semi finals. This time around everyone was gunning for them and they did not have Materazzi, Totti, Del Piero, and Toni to save them either.

                it was purely the bad player selection from the coach

                roma was neck to neck with inter and lippi only chose ONE player from that team, 3 oldies from milan (cant hate on pirlo), hardly anyone from the top teams in serie A and bunch of juve and mid to lower table players...he didnt choose the best players cuz of his stubbornness and chose his favorites

                as far as inter goes
                santon was injured all year, balotelli was always the first off bench or sometimes start, materazzi got some games in, toldo even came in sometimes

                        he can be great but he also loses focus alot cuz he argues with players and refs...like slovakia's 3rd goal (nail in the coffin) was all his fault for not paying attention to the other player making a run, he was yapping with the ref. thats why i was never a huge fan of his
