Should FIFA Introduce Technology into Football?

With so many mistakes and controversial calls, many are debating on whether or not FIFA should introduce video replays, goal-line technology, or some other form of technological solutions. What are your thoughts?

Not for everything. Just goal-line technology. If you are using it for diving, fouls, then it will take alot of time.. However, there should be like a 'challenge' option, like in Tennis, where you get 3 challenges per game.

    Should be fine.
I've learnt it's not what you have in your life, but who you have in your life that counts

it should be only allowed on GOALS (meaning anything related to a goal; off-side goal, penalty, etc...)

give the ref a maximum of 90sec. to 2 min. to review and come up with a decision (this way not much time is wasted, its as if someone was faking an injury)

also give the coaches 2-3 challenged they can use up during the game, only on goal related calls

the way things are going, alot of people lose interest in the game, especially here in america, people who are just getting into liking the game, cant grasp the idea on why these wrong calls are ruining the game. and they have every right, why should a team get eliminated cuz of a bad call?

What i don't understand is why they can't use goal-line technology that already exists and that won't interrupt the game. they can put sensors either in the ball or on the goal-line that can instantaneously detect whether the whole of the ball is over the line and thus if it's a goal or not. no time will be wasted for this... so why not?

in short, yes technology should be used. but not any technology that would disrupt the flow of the game. one reason we all love football is because it is flowing and an "alive" game. i would hate for it to become like american football or basketball where there are so many disruptions.

              many people say problems include:
              slowing down the game
ruining the essence of the game
the technology cant be supported in every game around the world
there cant be an international technological solution due to funding, etc.

maybe we can use the technology only if its applicable? or add another ref? idk...

bro at the end of the day, we have to weight the priorities up, is it worth not having technology at the expense of a 60 million ppl crying whn there glorious country gets cheated out of a chance to win? Is it really that much money to put a bunch extra cameras up in fifa official matches? is it too much money to hire another ref for a match? The answers to these questions are very simple and its a clear no, this is a scripted tournament and always has been.

A forth ref should review the instant replay of a questionable call and report it to the main ref. This should not take more than 30 seconds, and would not slow the game.
If Lampard's legitimate goal had counted, the momentum would have changed and the outcome of the match would not have been what it is now. Same goes to Mex/Arg match. A clearly offside goal ruined everything for the Mexicans.

So much for the fair play FIFA claims it's implementing!!!

put like a sensor in the ball so that whenever the ball crosses the goal line, lights on the crossbar flash to indicate that it is a goal

put a live broadcast of the game on a TV with the 4th referee, and as some of you have already mentioned like tennis, allow 3 challenges for managers in each game

                      thats it, nothing more

the game is already so slow with refs blowing every 2 seconds and players falling down. an extra 10-15 seconds delay wont hurt anybody plus it will make sure the game ends without controversy and is fair.

just introduce video technology to big competitions like fifa wc, euros, asian cups, champions league...it doesnt cost anything, just get the 5th ref to review the call quickly on replay and let the ref know.

                        GRACIAS PEP

                          nah imo

                          do what europa league does.

2 extra referees on the line to address those situations.

                          like this

No need for extra technology on this.
                            I enjoy referees mistakes muhahahahahaa

Hell yeah, also FIFA should get rid of its fossils such as Blatter etc. It's ridiculous how so many teams in this WC have so far been victims of FIFA's stubbornness and antique rules!
