The most important fre agent still hasnt signed and that is derek fisher. He sign and the laker get a threepeat
and I cant beleive I am saying this, I think kobe and shaq should put the differences aside now that shaq has conceded defeat. Shaq should sin with the laker for a minimum and retire as a laker. Meanwhile he can backup drew and play for 15-17 minutes a game. It will be a beautiful story and every laker will benefit from it----1990 TM, You will always have a special place in our hearts

The NBA died a little bit and the evil four letter network(ESPN) was the cause of it. That was the biggest self loathing, self promotinoal, etotistical, narsistic, move ever in the history of American sports. I'm not ripping on LeBron for leaving Cleveland and going to Miami. After all, who in thier right mind would want to stay in Ohio where there are fat Midwestern women vs Miami hot Cubans in bikini's. Also, in Miami he has a much better shot at winning a championship. In fact some computers have Miami at 35% for winin the title next year.
I am mad and sad for Cleveland fans how he f*cked them over and the management. I understand moving to the bigger better deal, but is that how you treat your employee who believed in you for seven years? What non NBA fans don't understand is that on paper Miami looks like they are going to walk away with this, but the Lakers and 30 other teams will have something to say about that. Last time I checked Bynum is still developing and the Lakers are still the back to back defending champs.
Ekbatan
This is like Real Madrid having Ronaldo, Kaka, and say Xabi but a bunch of scrubs after that. DWade said it these guys are going to need to average 30 points per game in order to have a shot at this every night.
You need role players to help you out in your cause just look at how Ron Artest, Lamar Odom, and Derk Fisher all contributed in helping us last year.
I can't wait when Miami has some problems and these three ego's collide at half time. I'll bet Pat Riley(SP) is just going to be like ah f*ck it it's hopeless. They are saying all of the right things now but let's see how they react to adversity. What if Miami loses in the Eastern Conference Finals?

Good to see that the most important FA of the season, decided to stay with Kobe and the lakers for less money. I guess Lebron can return his Limo driving suit----1990 TM, You will always have a special place in our hearts

yea exactly
i think ESPN is just ruining all sports, their coverage of everything is so lame and all based on nothing but hype, not actual game and every night their highlights of every sport is soooo weak, the analysts are just band wagoners....they keep repeating the same damn highlights atleast 20 times in one hour, no joke, sit at a bar one night for an hour and see how many times they replay the same dunk, same touchdown, same goal, etc....just lame
i am so glad i have fsc and gol tv as my soccer sources cuz i hate ESPN

1) Miami told him they are not gonna sign anyone else until he makes a decision. There offer was more than the initial Laker offer.
2) why would ANYONE else even try to sign him when they know he is not going anywhere.
Thank you d-fish for staying. Lets add Raja bell, give him some hugs and start the hunt for #17----1990 TM, You will always have a special place in our hearts

Can you show me one source from all the reports you mentioned that says Miami's offer was higher than the Laker's initial offer? I just want to make sure we get this point across very clearly that Fisher did not take "less money" to return to the Lakers.

Credit Kobe Bryant with the assist.
"I have decided to continue with Kobe, continue with our teammates and the fans of Los Angeles," Fisher said in a statement on his website. "While this may not be the most lucrative contract I've been offered this offseason, it is the most valuable. I am confident I will continue to lead this team on and off the court. Let the hunt for six begin."............................
.........
Fisher likely isn't bluffing about larger offers from other teams. The Lakers' payroll already is stretched to the limit of the salary cap with the rest of Los Angeles' veteran core signed to multiyear contracts, including Bryant, Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum, Ron Artest and Lamar Odom.
But Fisher decided he valued winning and consistency over a late-career cash grab -- and the other time he left the Lakers for a big-money deal, he endured two miserable seasons in Golden State and one better year in Utah before returning to the Lakers in 2007..................

So that's how Derek Fisher decides to save face after going for a tour and meeting with the enemy? lol, who is he kidding? Miami offered him the minimum and that's all he had on the table.
