[MD 21] FIFA WORLD CUP 2010 - (1/4 finals) ARG vs GER ////// PAR vs ESP
BBC, Sport, BBC Sport, bbc.co.uk, world, uk, international, foreign, british, online, service
The English Premier League did not use it because it has a contract with rival manufacturers Nike.
However, Fifa says the ball was distributed to all countries in February and has been extensively trialled by Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Chelsea.
"The ball was launched in December. Since then it has been used in the United States, Germany, Argentina without any negative comments," said the company.
Germany-Per Mertesacker and Manuel Neuer celebrating a 4-0 victory over Argetina.
sooo german
the paraguay goal was offside, although harshly, because the guy who was offside interfered with play by jumping for the ball.
The spain of 2 years ago with torres at his peak i would bet to win the wc, but what i have seen, i hope germany win unless spain and or holland pick up their game to their max then i wont mind if they win. God not uruguay.
Spain have been very lucky to be where they are and they have a stubbern coach who persists on playing a half fit, not sharp striker, and 2 DMs when it's not needed, and have been reliant on dodgy calls to make the semis
I'd cry if Germany lose to them, hopefully Mertesacker kicks Torres (if he starts) or Villa or whoever is there's ass, and Schweini will take Ze Germans to world cup finals, and win the WPOTY in December
Paraguay goal was not offside. I lost count of ref mistakes in favor of Spain.
As someone pointed out already it was an offside. The guy who was clearly offiside jumped in front of the "goal scorer" and interfered with the vision. Not only that, even the goal scorer was very slightly offside himself.
Germany didn't really attack Argentina.
actually no, Germany never went all attack.
scored an early goal, controlled the game, and tried their luck with counters which paid off.
Khedira and Schweinsteiger were very focused on defense and it paid off.
really hope Germany beat that luck, over-rated, whining team
Right on..! Exept that Spain is not over rated and although they have had more than their usual share of luck as of late, I still wouldn't call them lucky..! They have played every match so far with the intent of winning it they have taken it to their opponents from minute one to 90..!
This next game though is gonna be a tricky one..! It's like they are playing Portugal again..! Exept this germans are a much more lethal counter-attacking, yet not quite as good defensive team as Portugal.
I expect a really amazing game and I expect cassias to become the difference maker ..! Although he is still quite rusty..!
Dutch should win over the talent-depleted & exhausted Uruguay .,!but u never know..!? Considering how unpredictable, exciting the knock out stages have been this WC..!
“The fact that we won’t have Muller in the semi-final is a serious blow as over the past few matches he has shown how dangerous he is, I really don’t see why he got booked. The ball touches his thigh, then touches his arm from a really short distance.” - Jogi Low.
“Their player, Angel Di Maria, had a much more deliberate handball and was not penalized, but Mueller got a yellow card. The referees should be more consistent about these things.” - Philipp Lahm.
There have been some pretty shocking refereeing decisions at the 2010 World Cup but Thomas Muller can count himself hugely unlucky to be missing the semi-final with Spain on Wednesday night.
The Bayern Munich forward, who has scored four goals in the tournament (England collectively managed just three) picked up a booking in the 35th minute for a handball which was extremely harsh.
Uzbek referee Ravshan Irmatov should be ashamed of himself and the World Cup is deprived of one of its brightest stars for the all-European semi-final on Wednesday.
Referees have been something else this tournament. They can be just as ashamed with themselves as players coaches and teams are. FIFA should look to their equal opportunity bullshit. Who gives a damn where the ref is from, have the best and ONLY THE BEST
They have been an embarrassment this tournament.
Now we are robbed of one the most exciting talents in such a big game
I've learnt it's not what you have in your life, but who you have in your life that counts
