Things we learned from the DFB vs argentina game

    1) Messi might be great but Messi is no Maradona! I mean its not even close. So youngsters give it a rest!

    2) as great of a player Maraona was he is a HORRIBLE coach. I juust don't understand how you could lose like this with so much talent at your disposal.

    3) What we thought, would be the german weakness (YOUTH) its actually their strength. None of these teams can keep up with them and what getting worse orothers is that theyr growing and developing chemistry by the millisecond

    4) teamwork will prevail and the germans put on a clinic today, just like they did against England

    5) Klose was robbed from the title of the alltime leading scorer title when he got that red card. Hope he can get it vs spain.

    6) I just got owned by Muller! That guy is a stud and for his age he is playing really well so my apologies Mr. Muller.

It's funny how Maradonna thought Thomas Muller was a "ball boy" a few months ago in a news conference. Little did he know the "ball boy" was going to hammer the nail on his coaching-career coffin comes the world cup time.

      Well done Germany.

        Well done Germany.
he also made fun of bastian and bastian was in a maradona mode today in terms of dribbling and distributing the ball!

its different if you were raised there (even born). nobody complained about zidane, did they? Qatari thing is like a family adopt a 21 year old "kid"!

the thing is and klinsmann was just talking about it on ESPN: The germans noticed 10 years ago that they were fading away so they started on the youth level with the distant future in mind and now its finally paying off. I wish iran would do that....wait a minute I just realized how ridiculous this statement was

these players were born and or raised in germany so in my opinion thats okay. Had podolski emigrated when he was 18, then it would be a different story.

we learnt that maradona is not a coach and he should go home with his grandma and do what he does best!

we also learnt that the german coach can do much more than picking up his nose and eating it afterwards

we learned that the ref is a ****ing idiot because :

                  1) Di Maria doesn't get booked for a blatant handball

                  2) Otamendi should have been sent off after 15 minutes

                  3) Mascherano should have been booked 3 times, and not 1

                  and YET

poor Muller gets a YC for a nothing foul compared to all others who went unpunished in the game and will miss the semi.

on the other hand, I was @ a bar with my friends, and I told my argie fan, that Germany will win 5-1...so close

                    Cacau was born in Brazil.

The one where Podolski squared it to Klose? I haven't seen the replay, but I suspected it would be, but commentators didn't pick on it.

I was hugely impressed by Germany's performance today, and just like against England, imo they were certainly good value for their comprehensive four-goal victory. I thought that they executed their game plan perfectly, by defending deep when Argentina are attacking so as to limit the space that the Argy front three can work with, and once they gain possession, counter-attack with great pace and making good use of the width of the pitch, particularly down the Argentine right flank, to devastating effect. In the end it was too much for Argentina to handle, as their defensive weakness and unbalanced team structure (two wingers and one defensive midfielder in a supposed three-man midfield? you must be joking Maradona) were finally brutally exploited by a well-organised and tactically savvy team.

At this point, Germany are undoubtedly the team of the tournament so far, and I have really enjoyed watching the football they have played (more reason for Sir Alex to seriously consider making a move for players like Schweinsteiger and Ozil), however it is important to note that, as good as the Germans have been, the opponents who they have dispatched up till now, namely England and Argentina, were just teams with huge reputations but glaring weaknesses in team structure. Should Spain dispose of Paraguay as expected, they are going to be a different kettle of fish altogether for this young and upcoming side. I will be really interested to see how Germany intends to counter the Spanish passing carousel of Busquets, Xavi and Iniesta. Looking forward to a potentially cracking showdown.

I think both of them have some German roots.

Klose and Podolski each have one German parent.
