Germany showed they can fully neutralize top attacking talents (Messi, Tevez, Higuain, Di Maria) with a great game plan and 2 TOP TOP box to box midfielders in Schweini and Khedira who dispossess opisition without committing a foul. I hope Low has learnt from his 2008 mistakes and can beat a weakened Spanish side.
such a shame a great young talent like Mueller will miss the game due to incompetence of a horrible Uzbeki referee. but he can be replaced by Marin, Kroos, or even Trochowski who is more defensive minded.

I think you Englishman are still too shocked by the 1-4 loss against Germany.
Don't make the mistake and overrate the Germans, i've nearly seen every Bundesliga match this season and I can tell you Germany definitely has weak spots in their team.
Their defence (Friedrich and Mertesacker) were just tested 1 time in this whole tournement and this resulted into a goal (against Serbia).

The problem is that England and Argentina played like p**** against the Germans. If you don't put pressure on them they make you your p****. This is the German mentality which is also deeply rooted in German society.

Maradona should have slapped his players before the match instead of kissing them on the cheeks.

mate, I hate England NT, never supported them..just because I support Liverpool, it doesn't translate to supporting England, as opposed to some other members who support the country of their club..club football is so irrelevant and different than international football

but yea, Germany have weak spots too...Mertesacker struggles against Pace and at a 5 minute spell vs England, Germany mids were chasing shadows.

however, the workrate in Germany team is amazing. not sure if you noticed, but even Klose tracks back til the halfway line to win the ball back, same goes to Ozil, Podolski, Muller (and his replacement) and the 2 CMs. so there is a good chance Spain, despite their superior passing rate, will get overran in midfield and dispossessed too easily (like first half vs Para)

Germany will see less of the ball vs Spain compared the last 2 games, but they can use it efficiently imo.

Spain lack a bulldog in their midfield, someone to man mark Ozil outta the game. and I guess by now, everyone knows that Spain's defense is very vulnerable, and Germany are very efficient with their attacks so they can cause problems for it.

I think the first goal, will play a big role to decide the eventual winner...

overhype them like there is no tomorrow, and when they flop, make them pray they were never born, and bash them for weeks.

and their commentators, wow. Shearere and Hansen: "this Germany team is very very average", "only Lahm and maybe Ozil can find a play in England's team"

people are delusional if they believe Spain can beat Germany ..... Those weak minded spaniards have never even played in a WC semifinal ....

The germans will destroy spain even without muller

Actually they are one of the most deserving candidates for a WC star above their badge amongst all countries who have none yet.
Especially considering this WC which they are oozing with top quality at almost every position on the pitch and playing one the best total football ever played at the games..!
Their only weekness so far has been suseptibility to counters , difficulty opening up jammed pack defenses (which is normal & expected) & a slight lack of belief in their own potential which is normal considering their WC history.
The right approach and effective tactics are paramount to their success in next game..! They certainly have the quality but it's pretty much up to Del Bosque to guide them to wc glory..!
The possible Dutch & German final sounds quite tantalizing and exciting..!(especially recalling the amount of love and respect that these two have for each other as evident by goodOl Rudy Voller's spitting incident @ etc..!
But as far as deserving is concerned...Spain, followed by the Dutch are both far ahead of the over-achieving, well poised, young Germans and the for most part super lucky Uruguains ..!
I'll be definitely pulling for Spain against the Germans , now that my favorite is out..!
But I won't be betting on it unless the odds are too good to pass on..!

                      Had to reply to this..

The press may be the worst over-hyped media there is. If you win, your a hero, and if you lose, your zero.. however, hows that relevant to the national team :S ? I can say i don't wanna support Iran national team, because of the IR. quite silly.

Shearer and Hansen are pundits. They speak quite honestly, and no-one really expect German to outplay England like that with that scoreline. In the group-stage games, the Germans were average. Thats why Hansen was picking on, so It's not arrogance.. plus he's a scott and a scouser.

Netherlands: definitely deserve to be where they are today, beating an amazing Brazil team (believe it or not, Dunga's team was a machine and self destructed, they were unbeaten for such a long time) justifies their inclusion in the final 4. not to mention the potential WPOTY winner Sneijder leading the team and their best player Robben missing the group stage, and yet they are here in semis without even going to the second gear.

Uruguay:a lot of heart, mixed with some luck. the 50s are back. a beast of a player in Forlan and a great intelligent prospect in Suarez, not to mention a rock in Llugano. the last team to qualify for these WC, and no matter what happens to them it'd be a success for them.

Germany: a very young team who was written off as soon as Ballack got injured, has outscored their opponents 13 to 2, playing THE REAL ATTRACTIVE FOOTBALL (Pass and Move) with a lot of integrity and ethic. humilated England and Argentina. only lost one game due to horrible refereeing.

                        and then

Spain: bunch of whining, arrogant players. when their players won't even celebrate when Ineista scored vs Chile, as they are more concerned with getting the poor Chilean player sent off..I MEAN COME ON, Your team fuking scored. boring- ass football, 100000short passes, everyone all over the place, most of the time Iniesta is their CF, and a half fit, not sharp Torres plays on the wing. Alonso, Ramos and Busquets foul all they want without getting booked. the same fouls for which German and Dutch players are cautioned.
beating Portugal with an offside goal, and today their opponent had a legit goal disallowed, and then Paraguay's penalty should have been re-taken as 2 Spain players ran into the box when Cardozo hit the peno. David Villa slaps the poor Honduran player, and then he gets away with it, with nothing. Torres the disgrace hits himself and falls as he's been shot to get the Chilean player sent off and etc etc many more.

It'd be a shame for football as a whole if Spain runs away with the WC.

hopefully justice serves right on wednesday night
Netherlands are here cos they got the easy route, and when they were too poor and shit to break down denmark, a freak fluke goal saved them. They got another fluke against japan. The got a piss easy slovakia in the last 16 where they didnt fully dominate. They were excelent for about 20minutes in the brasil game but the way they conceded the first goal was absolutley horrific.

Ururguay dont deserve to be in the semis, they took the easy route of s.korea and ghana escaping teams like argentina brasil who are much better than them. Llugano is anything but a rock, he made huge errors throughout the group stages. They are very boring and defensive and sit back.

                        Germany have been awesome

well this guy explains that the paraguay goal was clearly offside:

agreed, any player from spain who made half the fouls van bommel made against brasil would have been sent of. Its not the players fault for not getting booked, thats the refs fault, so what are you complaining about?

torres foul which lead to the chilean red card was no way a dive, it was just accidental trip which would be 50/50 yellow even in premiership, and even then that player was EXTREMELY lucky himslef not to have recieved a 2nd yellow seconds earlier.

fair enought the paraguay pen should have been retaken which could have changed the game entirely.

i also disagree that short pass football is boring, i absolutely love it when spain pass all their corners. urugay is boring, holland of this tornament have been boring yet got further than they normally do playing briliantly. The germans have been most exciting of the 4, with spain being 2nd imo.

You complain about villa being offside against portugal yet you forget that germany had a blatant goal against them disalowed.

the media do exagerate them alot. you cant criticise hansen and shearer for what they said cos it was before the england game and the german team had already lost and requireda screamer from ozil to beat ghana. Also hansen is a scot so its like an Arab talking about Iran. hansen and shearer and all uk pundits are full of praise of germans now.

holland deserve to be here over spain, with their lucky ass goal vs brazil? Arjen robben, their best player isnt concerned with getting other players carded?
Uruguay deserve to be here over spain, with suarez CHEATING (just because he got caught doesnt mean using your hands in this sport isnt cheating) to make ghana lose?
Germany deserve to be here over spain, with the referees not allowing lampards goal, which would have made it 2-2 and given england all the momentum?
And spain, who have the audacity to not sing their national anthem that has no words, dont deserve to be here after the ref calling a paraguay goal that was offside offside, not giving the guy who brought down villa a red, not giving another pk/red card after villar brought down fabregas in the box? Cmon elnino

and they play all these passes because the opposition just sits back and defends. Im sure you will enjoy when they play an attacking team like germany, so they can finally play their game

thats also the stupidest signature ive ever seen

Holland have been boring and lucky too, but AT LEAST, they beat Tournament favourites. say w.e you want, but Dunga's team was the best and most balanced team of the tournament, and who ever stops them regardless or outplaying or luck, deserves respect.

Dung had built a winning team in 4 years, absolutely raping eveyrone in all tournaments. raping the same Chile Spain barely got past.

Uruguay didn't cheat. it's as, a keeper committing a penalty...you guys are such ****ing hypocrites, if Rahman Rezaei did it agaisnt Bahrain to give us one last chance to qualify for the WC, he'd be a hero for sacrificing himself...not a cheater. Suarez was well aware of the consequences. it's baffling how committing a foul is considered cheating. then every single foul on the pitch when there is a clear goal opportunity is cheating. then Harry Kewell is a cheater, Paul Scholes is a cheater, Henchoz and Ole Gonar Solskjaer are cheaters etc etc. a country with 3 million population doing so well with limited resources and a lot of hard team work and gets no credit.

ROFL @ what you say about Germany. if Germany were average in group stages, England were awful. being outplayed by Algeria ffs...Germany outclassed England in every single department, even the most hardcore English fans took their hats off in respect to this young under-rated German side, then some arrogant people like you said, England were awful anyways, let's see how they will stop messi and army with their 100% records...and they absolutely boned them. outscoring opponents 13 to 2

and you are talking about Robben trying to get Melo sent off, while the cutn openly said I could have broken Arjen's leg....and WHILE your lovely team Spain, DIDN'T CELEBRATE THEIR GROUP WINNING GOAL...as Xavi and Pique was trying to get the Chilean player sent off

same with yesterday, trying to get Alcaraz sent off and lmfaooo

80% of non-Spanish Spain fans, didn't even know Spain exists on the map before 2008. fuking fan boys....just because their stars play in La Liga, they are surely the best (same with England so called stars and EPL)...

again another sign of MONEY$$$$ ruling football these days, and not actual football.

exactly like how Chelsea got so many fans after 2004, and now Man City is attracting some fans
why go so far away, Last year 90% of this site were Barca fans....lmfao, I wonder why

if Khalatbari was playing for Xerez, 99% of this site would be saying he is better than Muller for example, since he plays in La Liga... I bet my life on that

                                I agree with you

at the start of the tournament i was going for Spain, but watching them has been nothing but boring. The are like Argentina just riding a wave of luck and just like Argentina that wave will end.

The problem is they have that world renowned Barcelona mentality trying to get players sent off, playing dirty when teams counter, dive continuously knowing you can get away with it.

Germany v Netherlands Final, anything else would be just wrong (especially after what Suarez did to get Uruguay there)
