inshalla bemiram if this is good football. good football is Cryuff's football. good football is Brazil of 82 (I've watched the videos)...good football is Milan of early 90s. Germany are so much better to watch than Spain.
80% Spain's current team's passing of their passing is backwards and side ways.
Aragones team played good football....Del Busque ruined it imo.
gotta love all those shut the fvck up one liners, and people who actually don't come up with an argument.
I feel wasted here having essay like detailed posts answers to reply to some arrogant one liners

I just don't buy into this beautiful football people talk about when speaking about Spain. I think Brazil played 5 times more beautiful than Spain despite all the hype about them being negative and defensive.
I really am shocked on why some of you are so in love with Spains national squad. They lack in intensity, they are arrogant, their style completely lacks in wing play and is very predictable and almost looks like a practice game of possession. In order to score either Villa has to score or they must walk the ball into the goal. They really kill games with their boring form of possession that leads to short pass after short pass with low results.
---------------------------------------------------------------
I created this thread simply to debunk the notion of Spain playing beautiful football.
in WC2010 so far: I can name at least 5 teams who have played a more beautiful brand of football than Spain
1- Germany (no comment)
2- Brazil (brillaint one touch movements of Kaka, Fabiano, Robinho, and Maicon and Bastos owning the flanks, so much intensity)
3- Ghana (Annan, KVP, Ayew, amazing trio, effective passing, good wing play, Gyan doing work of 2 people on the pitch)
4- Mexico (their attacking trio were magnificant, amazing support by fullbacks Juarez and Salcido, Marquez dictating the games, so much more unpredictability in their attack and football)
5- Argentina (bar the last game, which Leow raped Maradona...generally good attacking play especially with Messi and Tevez. and even better when Aguero and Pastore contributed, like their last 2 goals vs S.Korea)
and best and the best of all:
CHILE- Attacking Brazil even when 3-0 down, attacking Spain when a man down and 2-0, only stopped while realized Swiss is flopping......a lot of credit to Bielsa and Alexis Sanchez

Dung had built a winning team in 4 years, absolutely raping eveyrone in all tournaments. raping the same Chile Spain barely got past.
1)Uruguay didn't cheat. it's as, a keeper committing a penalty...you guys are such ****ing hypocrites, if Rahman Rezaei did it agaisnt Bahrain to give us one last chance to qualify for the WC, he'd be a hero for sacrificing himself...not a cheater. Suarez was well aware of the consequences. it's baffling how committing a foul is considered cheating. then every single foul on the pitch when there is a clear goal opportunity is cheating. then Harry Kewell is a cheater, Paul Scholes is a cheater, Henchoz and Ole Gonar Solskjaer are cheaters etc etc. a country with 3 million population doing so well with limited resources and a lot of hard team work and gets no credit.
2) ROFL @ what you say about Germany. if Germany were average in group stages, England were awful. being outplayed by Algeria ffs...Germany outclassed England in every single department, even the most hardcore English fans took their hats off in respect to this young under-rated German side, then some arrogant people like you said, England were awful anyways, let's see how they will stop messi and army with their 100% records...and they absolutely boned them. outscoring opponents 13 to 2
3) and you are talking about Robben trying to get Melo sent off, while the cutn openly said I could have broken Arjen's leg....and WHILE your lovely team Spain, DIDN'T CELEBRATE THEIR GROUP WINNING GOAL...as Xavi and Pique was trying to get the Chilean player sent off
same with yesterday, trying to get Alcaraz sent off and lmfaooo
80% of non-Spanish Spain fans, didn't even know Spain exists on the map before 2008. fuking fan boys....just because their stars play in La Liga, they are surely the best (same with England so called stars and EPL)...
again another sign of MONEY$$$$ ruling football these days, and not actual football.
exactly like how Chelsea got so many fans after 2004, and now Man City is attracting some fans
why go so far away, Last year 90% of this site were Barca fans....lmfao, I wonder why
if Khalatbari was playing for Xerez, 99% of this site would be saying he is better than Muller for example, since he plays in La Liga... I bet my life on that
2) ROFL @ what you are saying. I say that the pundits werent wrong to assume that germany were average before seeing them in the knockout stages. I didnt once mention england. So you, with your detailed essay arguments, start talking about how england was worse than germany which doesnt prove wrong that germany lost to a cheap goal against serbia, depsite having klose sent of cheaply i accept, podolski couldnt finish piss easy one on one and missed a pen and it required an ozil wondergoal to finally beat ghana. Shweini and Podolski and Klose and Lahm were only big players that they knew. They didnt know about ozil and khedira and muller etc except for muller in the cl games which he was poor imo. Ozil and khedira realy impresed despite ozil missing at least 3 gilt edged one on ones in the group stages. They were a good team and ripped apart australia but compared to other germanys of the past and on paper, it was fair to assume that the team wasnt as brilliant as a normal germany would be.
3) Robben always gets tapped and falls down and rolls around. yes melo said he could have breaken his leg but that doesnt mean robben didnt purposely milk it like busqeutes. What about ozil who has dived more than any spanish player this tornament and should have been booked again against argentina for a dive which no one picked up on. What about suarez who also dived more than any spain player?
The reason people are leaving one liners is because there is so much bias and ignorance in your writing that it takes alot of time and effort to argue back.
i agree its irratating having fanboys who wont even admit that spain defence is shit, pique is better of being behind the strikers than in defence. I also admit that there no way near the same team of 2years ago, mainly because imo, the best striker in the world is of form: torres.
Finally, you als ogave credit for holland for beating the best team brasil. yet brasil gifted them a goal then ensured that they couldnt get back in the game due to melo.

Suarez and van bommel as well as nearly every other player in this tornament always asks the ref for a yellow card, if you think spain is only team to do this then you must be blind. People appeal for bookings the same reason they would appeal for a blatant penalty, because it will help them win the game and that is what they want to do. The reason people dislike it is because it is unsporting, but then so is handballing it of the line eventhough every player there would also do it. Its instinctive when your in a game to appeal for a yellow.

now, the funny thing is Uruguay were actually cheated.
1) Ghanayan played dove to get that freekick, saw the video and RAWK, will post it later.
AND
2)when the freekick was hit and the guy got the header in, the player who got the next touch was offside
before he head the ball
and instant after he headed the ball
so it should have been called offside and then penalty shoot outs, with Suarez on the pitch
---------------------------------------------------------------
and yea, a lot of credit to Spain for unlocking Portugal's rocky defense and Paraguay's hard work. it definitely deserves credit.
Spain have got the right results and for that they deserve respect, but I don't buy into this "BEAUTIFUL FOOTBALL" theory about their play. certainly not, the only player who plays beautiful football in their team at the moment is Andres Ineista imo. because he is much more direct than the rest of the team, who play 70 shorts passes to get the ball from the middle of the park to around the opposition's box only to neutralize all those 70 passes by a back pass from Xavi to Sergio.
this is not Cryuff's football the Spanish fans claim their team is playing.

germany is going to destroy spain. this is by far one of the best german squads i've ever seen. i totally respect leow for being so confident in those young players, who have already gained valuable experience playing for their younger national teams (ex. U-19, U-21), many of whom are still eligable to play for them. just look at Oezil and Muller! they are always pushing the other team back, yet they are the youngest players. even Sweinsteiger. i have always been a fan of how calm and technical he is when he plays. it feels like hes been with germany for years, even though he's only 25! Concerning spain, i have yet to see anything special in them. they seem to be tactically defeated by the opponent when it comes to finding the breakthrough. almost all of their goals have been individual efforts from villa and iniesta. germany on the other hand is so pleasurable to watch. they always seem to be in control, both offensivly and especially defensively. i was amazed at how well they shut down messi and the entire argentine offense. Anyway, spain don't seem to have a chance against them.

Germany's football coach Joachim Loew said that Spain have several Lionel Messis in their team as he looked ahead to their World Cup semi-final in Durban, South Africa.
"Spain doesn't just have one Messi, they have several Messis in their team, especially in attack, all the players there are in a position to decide the match," said Loew at Germany's training headquarters near Pretoria, South Africa.
"And I think that Spain is a team that unlike Argentina or England who, in those two matches, made lots of mistakes. We have to be in the position to push them into making mistakes, because on their own, they rarely make mistakes, neither in attack nor defence."
Loew said that he will be hoping that his midfield of Sami Khedira and Bastian Schweinsteiger will be able to combat Spain's Barcelona-based midfield of Andres Iniesta and Xavi.
"I think there will be crucial situations there where they try and take the advantage, if we can keep those players at bay and push ourselves forwards, then it would be a great advantage for us."
Loew will continue to wear his trademark blue sweater at matches and will not have it cleaned while his team keep winning.
He claimed he was not superstitious but admitted that pressure from other coaching staff and players to keep wearing his familiar sweater had paid off.
Germany beat England 4-1 in the second round and reached the semi-finals following a 4-0 demolition of Argentina, with Loew donning the V-necked garment each time.

I really want Spain to win it all but Germany!!!!!! they play better than Spain or it will be better to say they play quicker than Spain. Like someone say Spain play slow with slow passing and scoring with luck, and on the other hand Germany who plays faster and play as a team.
One more thing about Germany: in the game of soccer they have a plan and the goal of the team is to reach it.... They don't lose it if the other team score or if they score a gol.
But still I want Spain to win the WCsigpic
