you can rule Muller, schwanshteiger and Forlan out of this contest. Not that they don't deserve it. It's just the winner is normally from one of the two finalists. So it's safe to say Sneijder, Robben from the dutch side and Xavi and Villa have more chances than others.

But quite honestly so far I've been extremely impressed with Gerard Pique in this tourny. He's been so solid, playing almost flawlessly. He's one of the main reasons Spain has kept clean sheets in 4 of the 6 matches and only conceded two goals in this WC.

I think it's between Villa and Sneijder. Villa carried Spain to the final with his goals winning the games, and Sneijder has been a great asset, assisting and being involved in the goals..

Robben is in the list, and Muller is not? What a joke.

Villa or Sneider depending on which team wins the final.

Forlan, Muller and Ozil are worthy mentions but their team didn't make the final.

except for the swiss game where he made a couple big errors postion wise, one of which led to the goal which cassilas also made a mistake.

EDIT: im suprised robben is even mentioned. Also i think ozil and shweini deserve it a little more than muller.

Me too. Suarez and Muller deserve to be there ahead of Robben.. Really surprising.

apparently there is a young player golden ball equivalent which muller is nominated for, i think ozil will win that one.

Uruguay - Forlan. Indeed the most exciting player to watch in this WC.
