BTW I am jealous of you I never had an arm to be a quarterback. I could chuck it 50 yards and I'm accurate but our starting QB was 6'6 250(solid muscle) and he could hurl it 75 yards his 40 time was a 4.4 He took a full scholarship to Oregon but he sat next to Joey Harrington. He was such a good athlete though he started for Mike Bellotti(SP) as Oregon's middle linebackr.
If you were my height 6f you would of been perfect. So what kind of an offense did you guys run? We ran your traditional west coast offense at Crescenta Valley High and went 12-1 our senior year losing to Hart 17-14 in the Division 2 finals. They had a young quarterback by the name of Kyle Boller you might know him as the former starter for the NFL Baltimore Ravens and a Cal Berkley standout.
I should first of all clarify that I played football in Canada and not the states so the level is very different. For us, 4.5 would be a superstar time (but maybe our coaches did not time us correctly because they were doing it with stop watches) But even still, in the NFL the top guys are 4.3.. there might be one or two people below that and the fast guys are all below 4.5 so thats why i said 4.5 is a good time for a cfl CB but maybe ur right maybe 4.4 would be more suited since hes a CB but u gota understand the difference in the levels... those numbers u quoted sounded crazy to me ur high school system is as good as our college system.

Our offense was run oriented, with tricky counter runs.. I had a lot of opportunity to audible and id say we did 65% running and 35% passing and we had some crazy black runningbacks they would make the passing game a breeze.

I have a very good arm for some reason.. I dunno why and i wish instead i had that type of raw talent in soccer because im too short for QB. I could through 60, 65 but my specialty was a 40 yarder on a rope (straight line no arc on the throw) We went to the regional finals and lost narrowly my last year. It was very hard to see over the O line sometimes and there were times i would guess the receivers position. The backup QB was this tall white dude made for the position but he was one year younger and they let me lead the team till i graduated

There is plenty more to QB than just throwing.. its about managing the game and not everyone can do it.. u gota be a lil smarter than the average football player.. its cool that u played with Kyle Bowler you have witnessed some high level football in ur time!

Nah that is the min wage dude, i read that starting players get from 120k-300k a season.

It has a 4.05 Million Salary Cap, so it has its restrictions. Most Australian sports including football has a salary cap so nothing to out of the ordinary.

The guy asked how much would a draft pick make. Yes a star player might get that much but a rookie gets a max of 30 000 im pretty sure

CFL players on average don't make a lot. i think ali has it right (about 30K for a rookie).

Just one correction I didn't play with Kyle Boller I played against his team and it was a technicality we lost. We were up 14-10 and we forced their defense to a three and out. Our pass rusher blocked the punter and ran it back to the house, so we should of won 21-10 but we got called for a roughing the kicker penalty. The kicker acted and got away with it.

Here is the thing that most people don't undestand. #1 those stop watches make you two tenths of a second faster. Try running the 40 in your high school and in the combine which are measured through a laser guided sistem. The difference between a 4.3 and a 4.5 is having enough speed to go to the D gap and break it for a touchdown or get stuffed for a two yard loss.

By the way I know that there is more to being a quarterback than throwing the football. The quarterback is the leader of the football team that is why the offensive linemen break their ribs for him. They got to believe in you otherwise they won't block for you with passion. You need to be the manager and not try to win the game on every down and let the game come to you. That is what most high school quarterback's and even college quarterbacks don't understand.

Oh and just for your info high school football in Southern California is played at the highest level along with Texas and Florida. Those are the three hot spots for HS football. The way you make it sound I"ll bet I would of been the star defender on your team.

My position the middle linebacker aka the MIKE position is like being the quarterback on defense. As the MLB you are responsible for anyone who comes up the middle and it's not just brute force either. You as the MLB need to read the quarterback and also change up the defense if you see an audible. You are basically acting like the quarterback on defense.
