American Members...Has Anyone Here Ever Done A Fantasy Football Draft?

Hey guys, I'm going to be in a fantasy football league this year and in the past, I've always done an auto draft. Well, this year, we get to pick our own teams and I've never done this before so I need some help! How do I prepare for this???? I know I have to have rankings of all the positions so that I can have a name when it's my turn and that I have to plan accordingly to bye weeks. But I'm still kinda lost.

    Any help is appreciated!

step one is to find out which company you're gonna use (yahoo, espn, nfl.com, etc.) and find out how their points are calculated. usually, rbs get the most points so you would wanna make a priority list of each position of 1-10 of how you rank you running backs.

sometimes, if you have like 6-8 teams and your first pick is one of the last in the round, you might wanna get a high rated qb instead and just pick up some rbs later.

as far as planning beforehand for bye weeks and stuff, just make sure you have a nfl schedule in front of you, that way you wont draft two qbs or rbs that have a bye week the same week.

one last thing, just make a comprehensive list of who you think will get you the most points and you should be fine as far as the draft goes. i usually pick players from the same division (afc east for example). that way, they are all not in the bye the same week and at least one of the teams will be playing a week team

i hope you find this somewhat useful and good luck!

Yep I was basically about to post this. What I like is I think NFl.com this year will have video clips if your guy is about to score or scores.

Basically in the first round you really want to get the best running back available, but if Peyton Manning or Tom Brady are available, you can take a shot at them and draft a RB in the 2nd round. Next you want to go Wide Receivers but really it's all hit or miss.

One year I drafted #1 and unfortunately picked Tomlinson and he had a stinker. It all depends on how healthy your RB is and how much he produces. If your running back goes down you basically go down so have a good back up just in case.

Two years ago I won because I drafted Westbrook and as a back up I had Ronnie Brown. In the 3rd round Philip Rivers was available surprisingly so I picked him up and in the 4th round I got Moss as a steal.
