Zlatan tells Sacchi to Shut Up

Finally, someone tells them (Italian journalists), what they should have been told a long time ago. Mourinho stopped short of this statement, but his rapid departure should be telling enough. Damesh garm- as George Lopez says, "payback's a *****." Way to put the guy back in his place, after sitting on a couch and criticizing, Sacchi apparently wasn't ready for this!

ROME (AFP) - Zlatan Ibrahimovic quickly went from hero to villain following his winning brace for AC Milan in the Champions League against Auxerre.

Following the rossoneri's 2-0 success at the San Siro on Wednesday night, the Sweden forward was involved in an ugly bust-up with legendary former Milan and Italy coach Arigo Sacchi.

Sacchi, who won two European Cups and a Serie A title with Milan and guided Italy to the 1994 World Cup final, was a guest on Mediaset Premium's post-match programme and had joked that if it wasn't for Ibrahimovic's big feet—European size 47s—he wouldn't have scored the first goal.

Told of Sacchi's comments, the Swede exploded.

"Sacchi needs to learn how to shut up," he fired back about the 64-year-old Italian great, causing shock in the TV studio.

"He also seems jealous because he's talking too much, he needs to talk less about me on TV and in the newspapers.

"If he wants something he can come and see me about it. If you don't like the way I play, don't come and watch me."

That sparked an on-air argument between the pair as the presenter initially tried to explain that it wasn't a criticism.

"He also said things about me when I was at Barcelona," retorted Ibrahimovic.

"I believe I can express my opinion in a polite and correct way, I don't believe I've offended you," said Sacchi.

"When someone talks too much, they talk too much, you're one of those people. If you don't like the way I play, don't come and watch me," said Ibrahimovic.

    "Let me explain," added Sacchi.

"You don't need to explain anything to me," spat Ibrahimovic.

"You need to learn some manners, son," concluded Sacchi.

Watching the below footage, it's very amusing how calm Ibra is while he makes his comments.

When a heckler tries to make a spectacle, you make him the spectacle. It's easy to talk smack, but not so easy to back it up. Italian journalists don't have a carte blanche to criticize all they want and not have to face the music. Hopefully, this will put an end to mindless babble like the guy scored cuz of his big feet- how dumb is that??? That's like some of our members saying that Daei scored only because of his height...

this confirms my suspicions that ibra is a giant, giant douchebag.

Why??? Because he was man enough to defend himself against a journalist?? We should start calling Daei, Azizi, and co douchebags too... It's funny how many simply like to hate the guy because of his face.. After being publicly chastised for no reason during his time in Barcelona, it was his opportunity to confront the guy and put him in his place- it takes a strong character to do that.

nope, I call him douchebag for acting like a 13 year old boy when someone makes a harmless joke about him. He said you have big feet? so what? Seriously, that riles you up? This guy must have confidence issues.

There's more to it that what you see as a "joke" made by Sacchi.

If you understood these Italian big mouths and their tactics you'd understand that Ibra is doing the right thing to tell him to shut up. Mourinho fought his ass off at Inter but the Italian big mouths kept at it until he got sick and left the corrupt league.

Exactly, to focus on the joke is completely missing the point and diverting the issue- a form of ad-hominem.

your right, i dont have a phd in italian soccer psychology the way you do. All i know is that, if someone made fun of the size of my feet i wouldn't get crazy offended. Must work differently where you live.
