      That is a stupid trade.
i vote against that trade anyway.

Seriously I don't know why are you being hostile I even wanted to help you out with your trade situation and gave you my input, but I didin't know abou this post.
Rumi-the ya baby is because the Lakers were 8-0 at the time not because I"m in Abu Dabi. Dude as you said it's a $hit hole and it sucks because I am missing a lot of NBA basketball. Well at least I was here late October and I leave in December, so the weather is not that bad here. It still sucks though.

My friends saw him on campus at UCLA and took a picture of him yesterday. Most NBA teams practice there during their stay in LA.

so many great memories of those summer pickup games at Pauly and wooden center My favorite one: 19 year old second year laker Kobe vs 18 year old UCLA freshman Baron davis in one on one back in 97! If only we had cell phone cameras back then

That is awesome you are going to meet DRose he is definately a rising star in this league, and he has all of the tools to be a super star. By the way I am 28 the reason why I got upset is because I thought you were taking a cheap shot at me but I guess that is not the case.

Dam Persianbruin YOU GOT TO WATCH KOBE AND BARON DAVIS BALL @UCLA? That is freaking awesome. Too bad they didn't have cell phones back in the day.

The most exciting thing that happened to me was when I was 14 and I was wearing my Magic Johnson Michigan State jersey at a Laker game. Magic saw me and I got to speak to the legend himself. The big fella loves to talk about the Spartans and he was very nice.

That was just one of many. I also saw rookie Kobe DESTROYING Toby Bailey time after time but then again that wasn't much of a contest to begin with!

Toby Bailey had some serious hops and had 26 points in the national championship game of 95, but back in 97 when UCLA played UNC he got posterized a few times by Vince carter who was pretty much just a dunker and a sidekick to their best player Antwan Jamison. After that he concentrated on other aspects of his game.

yeah I read that this morning and my fav part is about something I finally got myself about a week or two ago when I saw how the mentality of the rest of the lakers has changed especially odom and brown. Kobe has changed the "culture" of this team.

                        .........

Man Antwan Jamison there was so much hype surrounding that guy. He still at least played in the NBA(I don't know if he still does) but considering all of the hype he was a bust. This is the first time I am hearing about Toby Bailey but man he did have some nice hops back in the day. The thing is hops can get you a lot of face time on ESPN and it might get you drafted but in order to be successful in the NBA, you need to actually be able to ball it up.

I still remember the news conference when Kobe had his shades on announcing that he will skip on college and go pro from Lower Marion high in PA. Kobe and KG were true pioneers because before them this high school to pro phenomeom rarely happened. Now they have the one year of college rule but they really started that whole trend. Thank's for the vid dude.

Babak thank you for that interesting article. PersianBruin this part righ there that you pasted from the article .....“How to truly make players better, what that really means,” he said. “It’s not just passing to your guys and getting them shots. It’s not getting this or that many players into double figures. That’s bull[expletive]. That’s not how you win championships. You’ve got to change the culture of your team – that’s how you truly make guys better. In a way, you have to help them to get the same DNA that you have, the same focus you have, maybe even close to the same drive. That’s how you make guys better.....

This is Jordanesque my friend. Jordan had this ability to take average players and turn them into champions. It wasen't Jackson they feared it was Jordan. He demanded excellence and guys like Steve Kerr and Bill Cartwright(Spelling) played their best when they were with Jordan. Kobe didn't have this before because earlier in his career he was a sefish player. Let's be honest and fair here. Now Kobe knows what it takes to be a leader you need to challenge people. It's like you are a new CEO of company that just had a big scandal and they are no longer a fortune 500 company. They are a nobody company and you are the man how who is going to change the culture of losing. You need to strike a cord with your employees and chage their attitude. The same can be said about basketball and Kobe has it. Magic had it, Jordan had it, Lary Bird had it, and now Kobe has it. To me this is what seperates him from LeBron, well that and five nba championships to zero.
