that was zidane's own fault, a real champion focuses on the ultimate prize and if u wanna let a prick get in the way of that then u shouldnt be there...im sure being the professional zidane was he had heard worse things in his life. People curse out your family and they sing songs in stadiums about your mother and sister, they make monkey sounds for black players, racial comments, burn flags, pictures, etc.... does everyone run out crying everytime someone gets under their skin? its part of the sport, nothing new
still doesn't make it right though! and to say its apart of sports is incorrect, because cussing in football is illegal and you get penalized for it, just like how you swear at a referee, you can't do it to opponents. but offcourse you get dirty players all the time who bend the rules to get an advantage.

These conspiracy theories against italy go way back to that time, people tried to claim mussolini scared other teams from beating italy since they were the host, so ok take away the first world cup, then came 4 years later in another country and italy STILL won (beating brazil in semis) there was no excuse there.
really all these stupid excuses are just lame and they dont hold any facts, truth is out of 2 teams playing one is always gonna be sour at losing so they'll try to justify it by blaming ref calls, politics or what not but in the end truth prevails as years pass by and winning ONE world cup itself is a HUUUUGE accomplishment, something great teams like holland and spain couldnt do, so for people to downplay FOUR world cup wins is just beyond ridiculous.
they are not excuses, if you like you can go watch them in black-and-white and then come and tell me about it.

their football in the beginning was not of the highest quality. you do know that italy used to play catennacio?! do you know what that is?

and you know that the best team(who plays the most attractive brand of football) doesn't always win the world cup.

for example, in terms of entertainment and quality of football, argentina was the best team in 06. in the end and they lost out in penalties which was a shame.

Inzaghi set to miss season, career under threat
MILAN (Reuters) - AC Milan's 37-year-old striker Filippo Inzaghi is likely to miss the rest of the season after suffering cruciate ligament and meniscus damage in his left knee, leaving his career hanging in the balance.
"After a consultation the doctor has confirmed the need for surgery," a Milan statement said on Thursday.
Inzaghi suffered the injuries after coming on as a substitute in Wednesday's 3-1 win over Palermo which sent the Rossoneri top of Serie A.
The goalpoacher's contract is due to expire at the end of the season, meaning the injury could be career-threatening.
Milan decided against offering Brazil's Ronaldo a new deal when he suffered a similar injury two years ago but the club's esteem for Inzaghi suggests a contract extension may be available.
"It can't end and it will not end. Pippo is in our hearts and we in his," Milan's website (www.acmilan.com) said.
Former Italy World Cup winner Inzaghi has also kept himself physically fit in order to keep playing at the top level in his late 30s and the fact he is usually a substitute has also kept him fresh.
He bounced off the bench to score twice in Milan's 2-2 Champions League draw with Real Madrid last week and had been hoping for a role in Sunday's Serie A game with champions Inter Milan.
Brazil striker Alexandre Pato also looks set to miss the derby with a thigh problem leaving Massimiliano Allegri almost obliged to play Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Robinho and Ronaldinho.
With Milan top and aiming for their first scudetto since 2004, owner and beleaguered Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi may seek to buy a replacement for Inzaghi in the January transfer window to boost his side's hopes and his own popularity.
