im quite suprised no one has made a thread about this yet but Iran is doing pretty well in Asian Games so far and is 4th in the medal tallies with 8 gold medals with 8 days still to go. This shows a massive improvement from last asian games as Iran had only 11 golds through out the games however this time around, Iran has had a pretty decent start presenting West Asia in 4th place become China, South Korea, and Japan. Also Iran has many female athletes this year and for most of them it is their first time at a major tournament like this and they are still bagging in some medals!
Here's the medal tally of top 10 nations as of right now:
check out Iran's medals and their upcoming games in the different sports in this link:

with events such as wushu, judo, taekwondo completed,
Watch out for Iran to get more medals in wrestling, boxing, karate, etc!!
iran has being doing well in teamsports as well such as
Iran handball: Onto the semis vs Saudi!!!
Iran volleyball: Unbeaten on their way to the quarters and play the hosts tomorrow (china)
TM Omid: we all know they're unbeaten also and are in the semis vs. Japan.
However Iran's basketball team has been disappointing
They're missing Kazemi and Haddadi. I'm not sure why but Nikkah Bahrami is on the bench. (injury most likely)
Iran beat Philippines in its first game but then lost to Japan by one point however they beat India today which was a very easy opponent. Iran needs to improve if they want to defend their title against China!
