It would be a huge leap for Humanity if Japan had won the hosting rights, but I guess Oil dollars are too tempting.

what a joke.
they say no to racism yet they give the host to the most racist country in the world? there will probably be record amount of deaths and thefts at a WC.
and qatar? in JUNE??? are they nuts? it will be like 100 degrees and where are all the tourists gonna sleep? qatar is a tiny country.

No question that the stadiums will be nice and all that in Qatar, but it is A "slap in the face of football" that a country LIKE Qatar, which has never even qualified to a WC before, to get to host a WC.Last edited by Amin_; 12-02-2010, 01:01 PM.Persian Pride running through my veins!

The two worst candidates got it, I cant believe it, no one can. We Iranians are not the only ones dissapointed at this, the entire world is. Many wanted it to be in a major football country. England, or even portugal/spain wouldve been awesome. Australia or Japan wouldve been too, atleast they appreciate football, unlike Qatar who is definately in it for the politics. Take a look at the Qatari league, their stadiums are never even half full.
And what about the heat, what about the strict islamic laws, and racist arabs who despise jews and especially Iranians. I doubt theyll let tourists wear shorts, or let girls wear skimpy clothes.
I smell corruption, because I cant possibly see how Qatar is better than any of the candidates.

Round 1: England 2 votes, Netherlands/Belgium 4 votes, Spain/Portugal 7 votes and Russia 9 votes.
Round 2: Netherlands/Belgium 2 votes, Spain/Portugal 7 votes and Russia 13 votes (Russia obtain absolute majority)
two people who voted for Netherlands/Belgium in round one then switched allegiances to Russia in round two even though Neth/Bel were still involved. I don't really understand that. This clearly shows the people who voted for Neth/Belgium voted for them, wanted England to go out, then they went to vote for Russia in 2nd round.. 'Tactical' voting..
FIFA say 'No to racism' and then opt for Russia ? A JOKE
Two Oil-Rich countries won the bid..

There are many problems:
1. A country has bought its way into the World Cup after proving it cannot qualify on its own.
2. It will be very hot to a point where it will be dangerous for one's health.
3. The host team will field a team with no qatari players.
4. The host will use this event to advertise a false name for the Persian Gulf.
5. The smell of B.O. will be coming through our TV screens.I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.

.
exactly! Qatar and UAE are all in it for the money, they dont even attend football games, they prefer camel races. This will be the worst attended WC, mark my words.
What happens if israel qualifies? are they gonna get treated right by Qataris? Will their fans go? i know many jews who will not step in arab countries cuz of that, not even dubai.
