That's exactly what I was thinking. There will probably be a back up host. The qataris may talk big about what they are gonna do but as we all know when it comes down to doing actual work they smell.

Take a look at the Qatari league, their stadiums are never even half full.
And what about the heat, what about the strict islamic laws, and racist arabs who despise jews and especially Iranians. I doubt theyll let tourists wear shorts, or let girls wear skimpy clothes.
I smell corruption, because I cant possibly see how Qatar is better than any of the candidates.
Beer (Budweiser specifically because of the damn sponsorship rules) will be allowed, shorts will be allowed, their government has gotten closer and closer to Israel every year (the emir met their foreign minister publicly) recently. Trust me, they answered all those questions. You don`t need to worry about Israelis or Europeans.
The only negative truly is the A&&Y*Y($ Gulf advertising they will be doing.

You are not allowed indoor stadiums. The games will either be played very late in the night, or Air-Conditioned stadiums (somehow, without the roof being closed).

The games in Qatar have a flat atmostphere, qatar fans are a joke.

Nice to see that the tainted blood/oil money of Russian and Arab gangsters has spoken. Shame on FIFA.

              My day was wrecked.

for sure after this WC, everyone will call its A***** Gulf
If anything, we should step up our efforts to preserve and protect our heritage now. 70+ million Iranians are more than capable of keeping the Persian Gulf. We have to believe and keep our Iranian fighting spirit.

Never give in to the soosmar khors with their dirty blood/oil money.

Maybe by 2022, the IR will actually do something useful and use it's nukes to hasten Qatar's subsidence into the Persian Gulf. Who knows?

but holding a WC in Qatar in 12 years time is a very dumb move indeed.

It is a joke that Australia went out in the first round. Qatar won it so COMFORTABLY, it is so embrassing by FIFA.

                Terrible

The timing of the games have mostly coincided with Europe's night for TV reasons.

So there will be around 10-11 pm, as Qatar are like few hours ahead of Europe.. It is still going to be hot though :s

I'm not sure FIFA will want games that late. 2002 games were impossible to be held at Europe's night time slot. FIFA may be forced to have the Europeans adjust their TV schedule and schedule games at 8-10 at the latest. Afterall, they do want people to also attend the games (although with this particular host the time of the games won't be a factor in attendence.)

I was referring that 10 oclock in Qatars timing, so it will be around 8 in England.. There will be two/three games a day, so I presume it will be 9pm, 11 pm, 1 a.m??

                        I don't know, and I don't care anymore.

                        Eff Qatar

That's what I meant too but 10:00pm for a soccer game might be considered too late even if it conflicts with European TV times, let alone 1:00am. Is it only 2 hours difference between qatar and England?
